Thunderbird Club

Fuzzrocious Cat Tail (or an MXR M85 bass distortion which is essentially the same thing).

The M85 is just a plain good distortion pedal on bass. I really liked in on low gain settings with the chip that gets the light on, don't remember which chip it is. Sounded more like very burly OD.

The Tech21 Oxford (the orange one) is also a surprisingly good distortion pedal on bass.

I have always enjoyed that store and most of the people working there over the years have been very cool. Glad you were able to check it out!

I mess around with my SansAmp VT Deluxe (A pedal that I know Kat hates, but I get some use out of it at home) and an EHX Deluxe Bass Big Muff. I am still exploring both to find the most useful settings of each, which can lead to some fun noise sessions while my wife is out of the house. :bassist::bassist::bassist: I also use the EHX Octave Multiplexer for fun.

Don't hate, just couldn't get anything I liked out of it.

This is one of those things I had no intention of doing, but to not take the offer was dumb...

It's ok, I bought a skilsaw the other day. You gotta have tools to work with. Amirite??

yep. I can walk around the hardware barn fascinated for hours. No clue what to do with 98% of the stuff in there... but gee I like looking at them.
(I’ve even been too chicken to put a shim on my Tiesco).

JC - I’m waiting for the unbelievable deal to slap me in the face.

I get the hardware store gawkery- yep!
One thing I've decided to learn is that Opportunity doesn't linger around waiting for me to make a thoughtful, quality decision. It's knocking because it and I both already know...

Love my gold Jack Casady! I have been very happy with the sound and feel of the Ernie Ball Cobalt flats I recently put on her. I bought these two packs while here in Az. Thinking about trying them on my 5 string Thunderbird. Anyone have experience with flats on a bird? Great idea? Crazy heresey? Any advice greatly appreciated
Great idea.

Not sure if it's know in these parts, but TBer @rratajski is behind both Fuzzrocious and the MXR M85.

Indeed. Ryan was very helpful after the CatTail I bought from the TB classifieds arrived with a broken toggle switch (in the end I hardwired it to my preferred setting as I couldn't find a replacement in Sydney ... city of 5 million ppl, why would any of them need a switch?)
