Thunderbird Club

No windmilling for me. Going wireless solved a number of problems, though. I have a tendency to stalk around the stage like an ax murderer at times, and there are other times when I jump all over the place. Tripping over a cord spoils the effect.

Windmilling is something I've started playing with. I definitely jump around, dance, stalk if I have the room! But running across the stage and sliding (even were the stage not covered in carpet) would be a disaster. And any scissors kick will be more like little kid scissors rather than Pete's hedge shears.
Wield that ax, dude.
Yes, same WRT the stupid cord.

I'm not hiding. Really.

Ok, tone...
Jack Bruce, he broke the rules, with a mudbucker.
Phil Lynott, it was the way he hit the strings, I think.
Chris Squire, he took that Rickie to the edge of its envelope.
Phil Lesh. No, not a Dead fan.
Geddy. Yes, I'm a Rush fan.
Paul Mc, Hofner on steroids on "Rain", playing melodies on "Penny Lane" that required exquisite sounds.
Rick Laird, Mahavishnu... not sure why exactly. Context I guess.
John Paul-Jones, Physical Graffiti recordings. Monster.
Percy Jones for fretless. Stellar.

On the subject of tone....I bought Rick Laird’s Acoustic 361 cabinet that he used with Mahavishnu Orchestra a couple months ago. Sounds great- just waiting for my bird to arrive and I’ll try to post some sound clips.

'Bird through 360 stack = Voice of God. Fact. Not opinion.

Tool GAS is as bad as music GAS. I gotta quit buying cymbals looking for the right sound so I can buy a good planer. Life is short, GAS is long.

If I get a router, and a fender neck template, and several pickup templates, I can make the V bass I want too....

Explorer with 1 or 2 guitar humbucker routes, and V with 3 or 4 single coil routes.

I’ll bandsaw, and hand plane the bodies... I just need to make sure and use genuine “tonewood”
