Maybe it's just me, but I still think the L2000 delivers the G&L cred more fully. I could be wrong.

I'm with you. The el tookay is the classic G & L

tough one, cause for me a G&L is a refinement of the MM platform where the Stingray was a radical departure from Fender...

I've been on the Midway once, when it was in commission it visited Bremerton Naval Shipyard, I was pretty young, we took the ferry across Puget Sound to see it.

My daughter and I spent a pleasant day touring it during one of my visits when she was at University of San Diego. It was a fun day. The best part was talking to the docents who were actually serving on it during deployment.

I was so impressed with my Embassy at practice last night, I just bought one to leave at home tonight. Black, lollipop Hipshots and case. Already have a set of Sunbeam lights to put on it. Will probably do the series/parallel mod as well. Great basses!

I'm starting to see a pattern......!

No green there. That's a wookie. He could snap their headstocks clean off[1], but he wouldn't.

I've seen that one, pretty Jetsons cool - only thing I'd have done differently is incorporate a knee support. A design like that is similar to the Vox teardrop - for playing standing only. Speaking of Vox, it's interesting they went with a paddle hs shape - another design aspect I would do differently.
