One for Thunderbird Thursday...

Oh, wait. That's no Thunderbird...just the best dog on earth resting in the basement!

There, Thunderbirds.

Well, not sure I’ll agree to best dog on the planet how about co-best?
Apparently the schmoe was incorrect - just did a search and there is no mention on the Hagstrom Wiki page referring to Airline guitars (that one was called the "Longhorn") as something they made. Vintage '50s-'60s Airline guitars/basses have been extensively revisited by Eastwood Guitars in recent years.
Eastwood gives me GAS whenever I look at them. Especially this one.

I've seen that one, pretty Jetsons cool  - only thing I'd have done differently is incorporate a knee support. A design like that is similar to the Vox teardrop - for playing standing only. Speaking of Vox, it's interesting they went with a paddle hs shape - another design aspect I would do differently.

I was so impressed with my Embassy at practice last night, I just bought one to leave at home tonight. Black, lollipop Hipshots and case. Already have a set of Sunbeam lights to put on it. Will probably do the series/parallel mod as well. Great basses!

Just because we talked,I pulled out my Embassy with the Chinabuckers..after an hour or so of headphone rehearsal..looks like I'm taking it to the gig on Saturday.

So at practice I have my Dingwall SJ5XXX, and my Embassy. On one stand, a $4,800 bass, and on the other a $375 bass. On Wednesday I played the Embassy all night. The band loved it. When I asked them how much they thought the Embassy cost, I got: $1,100; $1,200; and $1,600! It certainly looks, sounds, and feels it.

The Flamingo has Chinabuckers for now. It's got 50-110 or so Bass Burners on it and nails the angry piano cold. It was going to get different pickups eventually, and it may still. For now, I'm playing it a whole lot, because it makes the sounds I want to hear.

this is George, my new friend...

The Dingwall take on the thunderbird shape is ok IMHO..Like a gibby in a windtunnel or something
