Thunderbird Club

VPs are still on the Epi website.
Epiphone | Thunderbird Vintage PRO

Yup.
What sorta ticked me is the last time I saw the Out of stock message anywhere near a 'Bird on the Epi site, the Classics were replaced with the VPs. But since 2 club members saw them at NAMM, we're assuming its just a matter of production. But still, the bolt-on model is still nowhere to be seen on their site.

My PF500 was a dog (blew up twice). That and the SansAmp not giving me anything I liked = done with Ampeg flavoured amplification.

A vintage 200W Marshall head would be cool, but maybe not too reliable. If flush with cash and looking for a new 'name' head, it would most likely come to a choice between the Orange AD200 and Mesa Prodigy. But the Traynor is so good it's unlikely I'll ever leave it for a more 'fashionable' amp.
My PF350 was fine until it was left in a car trunk for 6 hours at 2 degrees C. Now it will crap out if it has to push any decent volume. That would never happen to a Traynor!

Funny how we always think of dogs as boys and cats as girls:smug:

Indeed, Traynors come stock with their own snowshoes and ice axe.
Traynors can be thrown off a 2 story roof and be played after only replacing the tubes.

that was Pete Traynor’s design criteria. Great amps.
beautifully put together, a treat to work on for two reasons;
1 - they never break down, so it’s not just another Marshall or Fender
2 - unlike 95% of tube amps the chassis does not have to be removed. access happens through a top removable (in many models) vinyl covered plate/lid that has a schematic pasted on the backside, joy...

this one was suffering from a misplaced tube (operator error)...sounded awesome into my Ampeg 4 X 10..

So, I want a custom bird. Alder body, maple bolt on neck, emg tbhz pickups, 2x2 headstock, strat jack, dunlop recessed straploks.......aside from getting a warmoth neck and an alder body blank, is there anyone who could just build what I want? Im looking for tone, no neckdive, lightweight, maybe even a cool finish. Im ready, who can help me?
