Bummer....crappy news.Just got this from my aunt who lives in NSW...
"Many Australians would be appreciative if you could get Mother Nature to back off now.
There has been torrential rain up north. All but a handful of fires are completely out. Sydney has had floods with considerable damage. Brisbane had a man rescued who got swept away by rushing water, and clung to a tree for 10 hours. And the south coast of New South Wales (east of Canberra area) are now facing floods. Even my garden had 4.5 inches over the weekend, with more expected in the next 2 days and we are two hours drive inland. At workplaces, (and volunteer places) some people are bragging about how much their cars were damaged in the hail storm, or that they have already had their cars assessed and returned with new glass. But the assessment schedule now runs into April.
So Please do see if you can get Mother Nature’s attention.
Oh, and I forgot to mention the class 4 cyclone that hit the northwest corner of the country a few days ago."

a little? There's a reason Australians are a little nuts. And play Aussie Rules Football.
I agree, for the most part.As a guy who loves the car culture and often rides his motorcycle for pleasure, I feel like we're in an interesting place in history regarding the automobile. The older generations who equated the automobile with freedom are slowly dying off and the younger generations don't have that same connection to the automobile. Times they are a-changin'. Motorsports are slowly dying, and that includes things like NHRA and NASCAR. It's a slow change, but the culture of this world is changing, make no mistake about it.
amen to that.....to think some will take a Prius over this....I agree, for the most part.
As someone that is part of the younger generation, it is very noticeable that there aren’t as many unique vehicles on the road these days.
BUT NHRA is making a sizeable comeback. Probably will never be what it once was, but with shows like street outlaws, more people are getting into drag racing.
It is sad seeing the culture dissipate though.
Yes and no. There are still people who are enthusiastic about steam tractors. Sometimes I feel bad for younger people who won't know the visceral roar of an open exhaust, whether it's draining a stonkin' V8 or a raucus pushrod 4. There's a sensory quality to a four cylinder breathing through a pair of SUs that is hard to match. Likewise, a big V8 inhaling through a couple big carburetors hisses, howls, and roars in a way not much else does. Same with sixes and other engines. The noise and commotion and vibration were all signs of crude engineering and inefficiency, so the world is probably better off without all that. But, it sure was fun while it lasted.I agree, for the most part.

It's got to be the right tool for the job. I would take the Prius over that for most of the things I do with a car. And I actually have a '68 Camaro convertible. My wife has a Prius. We usually use the Prius. Well, we always use the Prius since the Camaro has some assembly still required.amen to that.....to think some will take a Prius over this....

The one in the background looks like an even more entertaining toy. Just a toy, though.

I don't, and I'm not sure how to take a picture of it right now. It's pretty well wedged into the garage and up on blocks until I finish bolting up the motor and putting everything back together.any pics of that 68 you can share?
I think we'll all need six weeks of narcotics to deal with these posts!
Heavens no.amen to that.....to think some will take a Prius over this....

I'll go with older, louder and better back then.....People who grow up now, especially in urban environments, will have their own oddball thrills that I'll probably never know since I grew up back when in a rural area full of loud machinery. It's not better or worse, just different.
I always thought everyone was playing offense. No, there's absolutely no reason on earth for people do the latter. It is simply offensive.
Well, the other shoulder should be easier and have a shorter recovery time.Yeah, and another six weeks worth in the summer when he has the other shoulder seen to.
Heal well.
I will second the "better then" motion.I'll go with older, louder and better back then.
Now get off my lawn.
