Having spent some time with the Dean Markley Blue Steels, I can say that I'm not a fan. A set of my favourite nickel roundwounds will be going on the JC once I pull my finger out and order them.

I had some on the white VP and thought they sounded really good, for what I was looking for anyway. Pleasantly surprised in fact. I like GHS Round Cores the best on that bass, but the DMs will likely end up on it again at some point, unless they are a perfect match on something else.

When I first moved to Seattle from NYC, the fact that the posh suburb was called Bellevue was a source of great amusement. The fact that nobody else saw the humor made it even better. The joke has not diminished over time.
