Someone posted this in the GP. They’re very nice SS basses. Anyone looking for a SS, this can’t be beat for the price. Seems like Gibson did a GC dump of them.

Since I fell 1,100 posts behind, I don’t think I’ll be playing catch up, BUT I did just get this in the mail today!

a new neck from Carlo with more of a J bass profile! My Cataldo NR-41 currently has a 1.75” nut width and I’ve grown to prefer 1.5”. Pretty excited! He also threw in a t-shirt

shouldn't be. there's clearance between the pup and the body..

Epi Blackbird/Thunderbird Pickups

Hi all.

I have received my Blackbird today... finally. First. Can I have a number and officially join the group?

Can you guys looks at the photos of my bridge pickup. It looks like it slopes towards the nut. It should be level right? It slopes towards the nuts. The photo doesn’t do it justice, slopes worse in real life. I tryed slackening it and retightening bit sits the same way. How much gap to you guys have between pickup and string. Thanks

I'm pretty sure the pickups on all my Thunderbirds slant one way or another. I don't think about it. Problem solved!

Thanks! That's my Custom Kraft hollow-body, pick/palm muting. I used it because of this live performance of Dusty - the BL is the bass player, (to her left) playing a hollow-body. Yes, Kirstin is a superstar - to us anyway!

It may just be the way the foam underneath has settled. I don't think you need to worry.

If the pickups are parallel to the strings, everything is fine. Mine all slope.

I'm deeply saddened to hear of Mike's passing, he was the nicest guy and an incredible luthier. He did all my work, set ups, built me a beautiful Thunderbird, knocked it out of the park.
