If your Classic Pro's PG looks right on your G&L then I'd say yes. The screw holes won't work but the Epi Classic Pro and the Gibson TB IV have near identically shaped PG's.

Never mind... I just had a look at the G & L basses... not even close to the same horn shape.

Are you going to add a push/pull volume knob for the Model One? That way you can use it as a split coil. You could always go with three volume controls in the original knob positions, move the jack to the end of the body, and put a switch in the original jack location. You know, just because you can

I may need rehab - I'm apparently a 'Bird junky. There was a decent looking Gibson on eBay, and I bid the minimum, assuming it would go for a whole lot more. Nobody else bid on it. So, when it gets here, I'll have five of them. Four more and I can equip a baseball team with Thunderbirds. This is getting silly.

So I recently scored a Epi Classic...the strap button is located on the back of the body where a neck plate would be on a bolt on. As i play it in my normal position it has a tendency to pitch forward on to its face. Anybody else encounter this? and if so how are you mitigating this?
My Classic IV wants to tilt forward when it's just hanging on me, but when I'm playing, it's not a problem. You could move the lower strap button up higher to counteract that if it bothers you, though.
I think the tubes in the ol' SVT are getting mushy. The Thunderbirds keep getting taken out of the rotation as the P is cutting through the mix better.
I've hit a bit of a GAS wall, combined with the declining CAD buck, there's just nothing I want badly enough to pay almost 40% more. Throw in the tubes (not cheap to retube the SVT), the fact that I had to drop some considerable cash on a suit for work because I shrank out of all my old ones, and getting tattoo'd, I feel like I've lost the lust for gear. I miss the thrill of the hunt for a Thunderbird!

I finally got a set of these Chinese pickups on my snowbird. They replaced tb+ in chrome covers. Being much shallower pick ups, the strings were really high off the lick ups even with the bridge pup all the way up. I have wood spacers glued in and thick foam, it's all the way up. So, I've been tinkering with the neck, added relief to be able to bring the bridge down. It's just about right now so I tested them.
I will make a little video but ill say o really like them. Construction is really good and they have a sound I would expect from the 60s. Very warm and punchy if you dig in. They seem to have a more open, woody sound than a TB+. Incredible deal IMO.

As much as I like it, I can't help thinking they should have gone with a longer 4-in line headstock, kept the original shaped pickguard (but still made out of wood) and spread out the pickups further apart from each other - All other features look pretty cool, and I love both the color and the "bird" logo.
I also think it would have been cool and a new feature if they had recessed the pickguard into the body instead of attaching it on top of the body the traditional way.
