Thunderbird Club

Fire Fight Benefit Thunderbird sightings: 2.

Chuck Garric with the beautiful white VP.
??? From ‘5 Seconds of Summer’ with a beautiful black ‘bird for a couple of songs.

Now I see the fuss over the white. On a stage they really stand out.

regretfully, Michael Buble’s bassist didn’t have a Thunderbird. :D
I like Michael Buble. Apparently he sings too; who knew?

Michael Buble? Is he still a thing? Don’t get me wrong, he is a talented guy. Just not my cuppa. But good on him for contributing.

5 Seconds (or more) too long...

If we take the standard value of a thunderbird to be exactly $1,500.00...I remember telling my GF we lost over 200 thunderbirds when the stock market tanked during the mortgage crisis. Luckily I didn't sell off and got them all back plus many, many more. Pretty sure I could get over 267 thunderbirds for my house, but I need a place to keep them dammit.

I'm partial, but do think the white is stunning. Mine sure is. Makes up for lack of talent in my case. A little. Pics don't do them justice.

Then again, I really love the burst as well. Love that wonderful wood grain.

Well, you are one lighter and I sincerely thank you for letting it come to me.

I didn't celebrate the president. Instead, I rewrapped a drum kit. It was dull aluminum silver awful that looked ok for about a week in 1974. It is now blue sparkle that looked good in the 1960s and still does. The kit is a cheapo stencil kit, with the same bogus brand name as my 1960s kit: Reuther. It has some of the same quirky hardware. It sound completely different. Instead of thin 3 ply shells, it has 5 ply shells that are also thicker plies. The bass drum is a 22 instead of a 20, and the big difference is that the toms are concert toms with no bottom heads. It comes as close to growling as a drum kit can, and it does not need damping to kee shell ringing under control. It is a new adventure.

It is a much better thing to do than buy a mattress or celebrate dead powerful guys. Plus, I will be at work tomorrow anyway.
