The problem with using epoxy is if you put too much in, when you push in the insert, the epoxy gets trapped and there’s no place for it to go. You might not get the insert in all the way. You also have to be careful not to get epoxy all over the place (especially on the finish).

I would use titebond or other wood glue.

Good afternoon to my Thunderbird loving sisters and brothers. I hope all have had a good day. I am slowly getting over the cold from hell and getting ready to hit the road in the morning. I retrieved my little Ashdown amp from its second trip to the tech. It seems he may have found the issue. While there is still a little hiss, it is considerably quieter than before. It is too much fun to drive that little thing right over the edge, without being too loud. The Bird sounds great with the gain about noon, giving a thick saturated tone. I am currently running it through a Rumble 2X10 cab. It will be interesting to see what is possible with it when I return and can give it more time.

I recent picked up a TC BAM200 from a seller on ebay for $120 new. I had low to no expectations and did no research before I bought it. I was surprised by how well it works and how small it is. About the size of a paperback book. It sounds really good and the minimal controls actually give you plenty of options for getting a tone you like. It also has a built in headphone jack. Overall I am very pleased.

I’ve carried it in my gigbag or case.
It’s really loud and sounds good to my ears. If I push the input, by digging in with my VP or JC, it breaks up nicely.
I’m playing in a reggae band now and thinking about a used MB500 or MB800.

Got the T-40-Bird back from the luthier this last Saturday and used it at a gig that night, sounds great! I had him install coil taps on each pickup which are really useful, lots of tones available.
