Much more seriously, there is reason to be cautiously optimistic about Covid19. SARS and MERS were both corona viruses and we got through those. But more interesting is the work done about a decade ago about the Spanish Flu of 1918; one of the most deadly flu pandemics(40-100mm casualties depending upon which estimate you like). An analysis showed that there was a harvesting effect. There far fewer deaths from TB in the 5 years following the pandemic. In effect, those who died from the flu were likely to die from TB in the next 5 years. Those most at risk from Covid19 are those already suffering some other lung disease. That does not mean that some otherwise healthy people won't die, but that they are at lesser risk.

I started to post a rebuttal to a comment on the scourge of neck- diving Thunderbirds in Basvarken's build thread, and pulled it as soon as it was posted. I didn't really want to turn his cool project thread into a branch of that long-running harangue, and give the GP what they love so dearly...
I hope you guys are proud of me.

Another case of just beat them to the insanity.

"My Thunderbird doesn't neck dive nearly as much as the Jaguar I had. My jazz had an unstable neck and when I tried to adjust the truss rod, the nut was stripped."

Well, Thunderbird Club has been described in the past as a 'motorcycle gang' (IIRC) ... which doesn't sound the same as 'herd of informed ruminant opinion'.

Yeah, I posted a NBD on the book of faces and it turned into a massive neck dive debate. Basically, my theory is, if it bothers you then move on. There’s zero reason to waste time and effort complaining about something you don’t like. Just move along. Alternatively, if you like it then feel free to say so. Personally I’m more of a “form over function” guy so looks are a driving factor in everything I do. I play basses with neck dive, I ride a Harley that has the front forks stretched out to ridiculous lengths, I’m building a Gremlin into a stock car. Sometime you just need to do what makes you smile and if others can’t figure that out then that’s sad for them.
