@BklynKen I was in my local L&M this evening. This weekend they are giving rental coupons for $20 toward any rental (their 'insider' deal, just show the email). A bass rental for a month is ~$30 (MIM 7ender) so I am contemplating renting a lefty for a month to try out. So $10 to take home a bass for a month. An interesting suggestion you had and I may just end up doing it.

Wow, I give you full props for attempting it. You may end up being able to do the bass equivalent of this:

Sweet Candy!!!

Anyone else you can think of on that level?
Sure. In varying degrees of complexity in lyrics. There are several. But off the top of my head, McCartney as he matured, particularly his 70s Wings stuff. Lennon to a lesser degree. Neil. The Boss, although I’ll admit his “hits” rely on a catchy chorus and less memorable verse. Suzanne Vega. The late Harry Chaplin and Dan Fogelberg did it. There are dozens of others. I’ll even (gasp!) include Taylor Swift. And while I’m not a fan, I had to listen to hours and hours of her stuff over the years spending time with my daughter and have to admit she does it.

Well I guess it was only a matter of time. One of the tress rod cover screws went missing. These things just don't tighten down properly after a while. I've even put toothpick tips in in the past because of this. Is there anything special about these screws or can I easily find a replacement?
They’re tiny. I had one go missing recently when I was doing a setup and started looking for replacements. Wasn’t finding a clear answer, but my son found the screw before I finished the search. The ones on my Silverburst were replaced sometime before me with slightly larger ones. No issue for me as that bird won’t go anywhere else for (hopefully) thirty years.

Going to order some of this Gorgomyte. Anyone tryed it. Looks expensive poopie. That and eather Rotoswing 66 or GHS Boomer Flea’s. Are they both good strings. Anyone using them right now? What do suggest?

Was considering half rounds. Been learning about sliding notes on the bass and with rounds its killing my fingers lol. Virgin fingers lol

I personally wouldn't use lemon oil. I do use Ernie Ball Wonder Wipes for the Rosewood. It's safe on anything and the oils don't backfire and have a drying out effect. I also at times use Gorgomyte to to polish the frets by themselves--then go over the rosewood. I don't use one patch to do both (per directions), and rub the dark grime from the frets into the wood. It conditions the wood very well and lasts a long time. I also use a fret polish with a fret tool to isolate individual frets. I obviously don't use all of this on one bass. Different times I do different things.

GHS Pressurewounds is what you want.

Did you find the actual size?
