Thunderbird Club

That's what I use mine for, a mute. Found that trick in the Rumble thread- the only one I read consistently besides this one. You may have even been the person I learned it from. Those little beasts just love Thunderbirds.
I think I credited @alanloomis1980

One of my best friends in college had that album along with its earlier companion. We wore them out along with his Badfinger, Who, Moody Blues, and other Beatles albums. (We tended to hang out in his room.)
Of course. Everybody in the room with the best albums and stereo. For awhile in the 70's, I had a component system* pumping into 2 Altec VOT's in my 'tornado magnet'. The trailer would distort way b4 the speakers.
*AR TT, Akai dual cassette deck, dynaco preamp, (?)tuner, (?) amp-it was a loooong time ago

I just wish they would do a REAL sunburst. I mean, the tobacco bursts and all are lovely, but let's have a for real sunshine burst with a big, yellow center, then red, then black or close to it!
The best looking Sunburst I ever saw was on a G&L JB2 (I think it was called) I had. It was really beautiful and I don't like SB finishes. Too much yellow for me. Do love 2 Tone bursts!

Spent time tweaking my Thunderbird sound through a Roland HS-5 Session mixer yesterday, planning to use the HS-5 for a FaceBook Live acoustic thing to replace a couple of shows we recently cancelled. She sounds beautiful.

But one thing I can't seem to work around is that when plugging the HS-5 directly in the lap-top, I get the usual stellar sound quality during recording and playback....except for one thing: during playback, I always get a brief sound cut-off about 1 minute into the recording. After that, no issue. But I ALWAYS get that cut off at each session I open on FB live.

I posted a thread in the Live Sound Forum, but wondered if anyone here experienced that issue ?

I'll have a THUNDERBIRD to go!

Only a week ago I was talking to one of my favorite abristas about how it was too bad she couldn't work from home.

The city of Austin actually suspended certain rules, and restaurants (and maybe bars) can temporarily serve drinks to go. I assume each drink comes with a stern warning about not drinking and driving. Trying to keep places from going under during the pandemoniemic.
I remember road tripping to Texas because there wasn’t an open container law. Yep, Young and dumb.

Freshman year my assigned roommate couldn’t cut it and had to withdraw pretty early on. So had my own room. I had all the albums so my room basically became the suite living room. I’m so glad we didn’t have cell phones with cameras back then.

Lets hear about your first thunderbird experiences !!!

Late 70's a friend let me hold a bicentennial while he was going through some issues. I didn't gig with it for fear of damage but I found it very interesting while noodling. I tried to buy it but he wasn't having it. Early 2000's I paid about 400 bux for a Korean Epi. Beautiful fit and finish. I ended up upgrading the PUPs. I remember auditioning for a Steely Dan tribute band with it and getting some odd looks from the other candidates. I got the call, BTW but decided the ride was farther than I had realized. Finally got a Gibson in 2007 and four more over the years.
