I have an odd fascination with these. It all started with the Geddy preamp that became a pedal that became a preamp/di pedal. Actually, it may have started earlier with their various 'amp in a box' type pedals. The Geddy pedal absolutely cops his sound - probably as a result of the bi-amping it does internally. So, I started listening to the other artist 'amp in a box' type pedals they have. All are interesting and cop the artist's sound. Then the question becomes, is that how you want to sound? I like the Geddy boxes (I suppose I am obliged to by Canadian musical commandment - thou shalt exalt Geddy above all bassists).Like most of us, I have a lot of time to kill lately. With that in mind, SW(no affiliation)posted a notice/demo in my email that Tech21 has a new 'Steve Harris' pedal. Nothing I can use, but fairly interesting to get his sound, if that fits what yer doing.
The Dug Pinnick pedal doesn't interest me - I like his playing, but I don't want his tone.
Neither the Ritchie Kotzen nor Paul Landers pedals interest me because I don't play guitar.
The Steve Harris pedal is cool. If I saw one used at a good price, I would buy it.
