Thunderbird Club

Is it a requirement of Reggae to never play on beat 1 of the first measure of a phrase?:smug:
BTW, thanks for the earworm. I find myself singing "Mahna, mahna, etc." to yer bass line.:help:
Speaking of earworms, I have Janis stuck in my head this morning. Ended up watching a PBS special about her last night (as they are no longer airing Spartacus). An interesting special. Never a big fan, but a little now and then. Footage of Peter Albin from Big Brother and the Holding Company playing a fairly large, looked like semi hollow bass I had never seen. Other times with an SG or Fender, but interesting old footage nonetheless.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Stay well.

Reggae has some funny conventions when you analyze it and that’s definitely one of them.
If I’ve created a bass line that’s an ear worm, I’ll consider it a success!

I love that guy’s playing and try to emulate it whenever I’m playing music like that.

The Supertone 2 won't work on Epiphone Thunderbird Vintage Pro's? I don't have one to compare, but that looks like the same bridge as on my Epiphone Embassy's
I tried it a while back because somebody asked. It fits, but the string spacing is too tight and it doesn’t give you any more intonation travel.
It also looks like crap:vomit:

I was able to break out the airbrush that I got for Christmas, this has been on my bench for a while. Now I can move forward with it and get it off my bench. View attachment 3761613
More progress, not my best work I started it 5 years ago, almost ready for gloss coat, decals, then flat and weathering.

Thanks Border! I love her music with BB or solo. I can't say I always like the timber of her voice, but my goodness what she could do with it. What an incredible talent. Like most of the music as well. Too bad no Thunderbirds were used.(?)

True for one 1 drop beats, but not universally - unless that’s all you play:D
:smug: Some 15 years ago I played in a progressive rock band called Judas. We were playing only originals and the target was to squeese at least a couple of different time signatures and tempo changes in every song...:D

Here is our take on a reggae:laugh:. I played a Epi EB0 on this one, as well as some percussion and background vocals. Recorded in our rehearsal space in 2006.
In those days I usually played my 1976 Ripper, one of the basses I regret I let go...:rollno:

I'm guessing the little girl wasn't really a fan!:thumbsup::D

I just finished a 50 piece puzzle..took me two weeks. Not bad...the box said six to ten years on it.

Stay safe.
You only managed a bit more than 3 pieces per day.* I suggest that a lack of focus was involved. ;)
