My strings are 1/8" from the pu poles and I don't experience this. I do play with a pretty light touch and even using a pick I don't pluck that hard usually. I'd just lower them until it's not an issue.

Copy that but do you have a G&L with the "MFD" Humbuckers ??
I'm REALLY hoping someone has experience with these, I mean from my experience, not
