Cool,
That is owned by tb member David Price - you're not saying it's for sale are you?
Oh, i know it's his, not for sale. I'd just love one like it.

Cool,
Should have known the Brother with the "Spy Vs Spy" Avatar would be on his game!!
I suppose now I fall under the "Snappy Answers To Stupid Questions" category LOL
Let's see that Bad Boy!!
I knew that!!added it to my post on the last page...
I know there's a lot of Coronavirus up your way, Jeff, but don't tell us you've contracted 'mufunzalo'.

For me, it's chronic.I contracted it quite some time ago.![]()
I like the L2k pre as well--and the pickups and....well just about everything about the L Series. Wonderfully made, and that variety of tones! I foolishly sold my older blueburst. It was a little more sweet and mellow that the other two. I always wanted that setup with a blend and mid knob. Tried a M series which has one, but the PUs were too tame. I never use the bright setting, but use the active some, but mostly over time I favor "just" the passive qualities. And another cool feature with G&Ls is if the battery dies, you can still play in passive mode. Take that most other active basses! I must say that the L2ks tend to be the most comfortable basses I've played. As comfortable as my Thunderbirds. You would do one justice and should considering owning one. Even the Tributes are top notch. Thanks! I just spent some quality time with it and was reminded of how good a bass it is. (now lighter!) I never owned an actual L2000 but I have to believe its character/sound/tone is pure G&L. There's no downside - every setting active, active boost or passive, series or parallel - it's the most user-friendly 9v pre I've played. And as long as you don't leave it plugged in - the battery lasts forever. It was in storage for a few years and the same battery is still going strong. Hard to top this system.
I think that L2K MkII is possibly the most beautiful FSO I've ever seen, and I own a designed, ordered by me CS NOS '59P.

I used to have a G&L 2500 Tribute. I assume it had the MFD Humbuckers. Loved the look and feel of that bass but just couldn't get on with the sound. Super flexible preamp with tons of voicing options but the only one I ever took a liking to was the passive option, that was to die for. All the active options would just hammer my preamps to the point of clipping. Not to mention the loud boom I'd get if the strings ever touched the poles (which they did frequently). Yes the magnets on that beast were very strong, I ended up lowering my pups quite a bit further than my other exposed pole basses. Eventually I got rid of it.Copy that but do you have a G&L with the "MFD" Humbuckers ??
I'm REALLY hoping someone has experience with these, I mean from my experience, not
even Mudbuckers were able to do this!!
Maybe 12 of us could scrape enough cash together to buy that bass. We'd each get to play it one month of the year.I know there's a lot of Coronavirus up your way, Jeff, but don't tell us you've contracted 'mufunzalo'.
My LPB 2/5, my only active bass*, sounded amazing when I first got it, but bit by bit the tone got punier and it started breaking up-in a bad way. I thought maybe the jack had gotten loose or sumpin', so I took off the plate for the control cavity. Imagine my surprise at seeing a 9V in there.I like the L2k pre as well--and the pickups and....well just about everything about the L Series. Wonderfully made, and that variety of tones! I suspect the bass your built is fantastic in all respects. I could see myself in line behind JJR58 in wanting it.
Duuh.LOL - pretty much sums it up! Even the right color.
)I am in love with that color! Inverness Green!
Thank you!! It's a 2006 Gibson Thunderbird.Loved it! what are you playing through?(obviously a Bird)
