Thunderbird Club

I have a VT Deluxe (banks to save settings). I don't have a need for it with my tube heads, but I still use is as my DI to the board. I would never not have one. If I ever had to play with SS or many other sounding rigs, it would be plugged in in front of said amp. But I like the sound of Ampeg. Does it sound like an SVT? No. Does it do something to the sound to get closer to that big Ampeg sound? Yep.
this type of hardware is about as sexy as lipstick on a pig....i just want something with more resolution than the 16 bit converters on my Acer. for going straight into a board I use my Jules..

So many goodies! I've got t make it to Vancouver one of these days. There's a lot of great stuff up there!
It doesn’t seem like it to me. Some stuff is hard to find and/or far overpriced. Now that the border is closed to non-essentials, I can’t order and PU across the line. On the other hand, this IS a great place to be in these times.

Maybe look at something from Focusrite? Speaking of nice sounding Analog/Digital I’ve got the Paris hardware and software running. Now I just need to learn to use it...

Right There With You As Well!
Although back in the day I pledged my allegiance to the "Disco Demolition Militia" these days I actually find Disco relatively palatable when compared to Rap
Good point, it's all relative. Of course I'd consider a dental visit relatively palatable when compared to rap. I don't consider most hip hop rap, at least it has some level of musicality to it.

:roflmao:Hopefully not the family Jules!

Just Thought I would put out an "A.P.B."

Wanted - Gibson 5 String Thunderbird | TalkBass.com

Thanks:bassist:
Don't see too many of those but they do exist. I'm no expert on the topic but I think there might be three main variants to choose from - an Eppi with PJ pups, an Eppi with an active preamp and a Gibby Studio. I'm sure someone will be along to correct me if I'm mistaken. Of course there's lots of great non Gibby/Eppi five string birds as well - Lull, Spector, Dingwall and many more.
Good luck on your quest!

Thanks Good Sir!!
So far my TBird quests have been "experimental" at best with the "Eppi Metamorphosis" & "Left Is Right"

So now it's time to do a "tad more conventional quest" for good ole fashioned "Gibbi TBird 5er"
Hopefully it won't be another quest for "Hens Teeth" like in the case of "Left Is Right" I had to wait like 4 years for Gibson to do a limited run of lefties in 2018 LOL

Obviously my tastes have not changed since high school because I still find that there are only two types of music: Music I like and music that SUCKS. ;):D

Actually, I have come to appreciate some disco. Bootsy plays disco and he has some killer grooves. I learned Groove is in the Heart because my sister in law likes that song, but I love playing it; it is just fun.

I play it on my THUNDERBIRD (tuned DGCF so it is easier to reach).

And then there was the social commentary:

There was a whole lot more going on, and the energy in the air was electric. It was a good time to be in NYC and a bad time to be in NYC, all rolled into one energetic ball.
Honestly, that was really when it was real hip hop. To me anyway.

Don't
Push Jeff
'Cause he's close to the eeeeeeedge.

He's tryin
Not to lose his head.
Huh huh
Huh

Looks like the correct answer to me. I don't focus on the 5ers so there may be more.

I "think" @Larry V is worth a PM on the Gibson 5er

The only Gibby fiver you will ever find is a Sudio. Those are hen's teeth. But, you have a quest now.
