Closer look at saddles on my VP: D saddle looks taller than E. So I think I'm gonna swap the A to the E and the E to the D and the D to the A. G stays put.

Some days ago I think I saw that someone around here asked me how I do make my bass sound like a guitar for the solo parts (I don't seem to find the exact comment).

I mainly use a Boss GT-6B with the ''demon child'' patch modded under my own parameters plus a TC Electronic Sub n' Up mini, that's pretty much it.

I may get a guitar wah and a guitar distortion/overdrive plus a reverb and a delay in analog format to add to my analog pedalboard. Never thought I would do this, but you gotta do what you gotta do when you can't find a decent guitar player to play with around...
Disclaimer: I don't record so no samples available.
I use a EHX Micro POG to get a 'guitar playing the same line as the bass an octave higher' effect when we go out as a trio, during guitar solos to fatten up our sound. In my recent multi-amp experiment, I tried running the 'dry' signal into the R200c and the 'octave up' signal through my R40, EQ'd differently. Very effective(pun intended) and easy to put the R40 atop the the 200c(or R100).

Well, who knows when I'm gonna get strings. I ordered from two places and both have said 7-8 days.

So I guess its that many more days to confirm if the stock E string is really this bad or if I do need a taller saddle for the E.

and I can't find a bridge with the same saddles anywhere to buy. Except for a supposedly american made one which looks basically the same and cost $150....
If only Epiphone parts were easy to get...

This is the way mine are and all as far as I know, including the '76 to accounting for the radius. That should work, but obviously doesn't for you for some reason. Dumb question: Have you tried adjusting the screw just a tad to see how it feels? A little does a lot sometimes. Just hate to you to have to buy something when there may be another way.

Well, I'm thinking that this stock E string is just particulary floppy. It does not have a positive feel to me. And I have trouble with it, even when just testing the strings to make sure they are in tune.

HOWEVER, I think switching the saddles around will help, as well. And also make any further adjustments, better. Right now, If I were to raise the left side to raise the E. that would put the A higher than I want. But If I can put the A saddle where the E is, well then as I said, all further adjustments would be better balanced.

That was I. Thanks. I'll check out the stuff you mentioned.
