Thunderbird Club

I know it's not, but kinda looks like the Eastwood Stormbird now! (which looks kewl)

Anybody ever get their hands on a Stormbird? Review?

I like it, but wonder why they used that bridge when they could have gone in any direction. Inexpensive maybe? Mine works on the '76, but if had the option I would not choose that bridge.

This might not be the correct club in which to post this. But frankly, I like you guys and gals best by far (no offense to everyone else). And since I will use my Embassy Pro (THUNDERBIRD family) with it first, all is well.

I'm so excited - and to be honest, so old - that I'll need a nap before I open this.
I'll give you a hint: the item inside weighs about 85lbs (42.5Kg).
Coffee table included for perspective:

I have two ported 4x10s to go with it, which should be plenty!

A puppy! You got a puppy!

What is the general logic for using the neck plate treble side as an alternate position for the strap button? Is it to position the neck higher? It required me to place the strap across the front of the body to keep the bass from tiltingaway from my body. Never got used to it since I'm playing the super light Embassy's instead of the T5 these days.

That seems like a goofy location.

It's on a truck that is circumnavigating my neighborhood (the UPS Follow My Delivery feature is pretty cool, but I bet it drives impatient people nuts!). Sometime between now and 7PM. Hopefully by 5:30 so we can both go downtown to pick up the free supper we were gifted from a cool restaurant. Otherwise Sharon will stay here while I pick up supper (I may have to prove it's me.)

With any luck, someone else's bass neck will arrive with it.

Please look out for my CD.

I want in! I've actually had this 2001 T-Bird for some time now. I love the ebony board. I'm ready to start modding now by adding all nickel hardware and thunderbuckers. I'm in love with the look of the Bicentennials. Does anyone know what large clover style tuners (with the big elephant ears on back) will fit? I'm going for the look of the bicentennial, but I'm not sure if mine has a smaller headstock and that won't work? I know about the hipshots- but for me the bigger the better! Thanks!

The 2001 I have is just flat magic. I'm superstitious about modding it!

That said, Hipshot make mini-clovers that work on the smaller headstock like a 2001 has. I put them on the 1991, and they work well. Any bigger and they conflict with each other.

I've never mic'ed an amp before in order to record bass, I am used to, as most of the people (I guess), to record straight to the interface. This time I tried to make an experiment just using a compressor an a preamp straight to the amp recording through a Shure SM57.

Epiphone Thunderbird Classic Pro.

Neck pickup only, Tone 100%

Aguilar TLC + Sansamp PARA Driver V2

Ampeg 350 PF head + Ampeg PF 210HE cab

This is the result.

One of these maybe! I love mine. It's my main cab. With my Ampeg V4BH all tube head it's simply big bass goodness. (Not my rig below, but I have one of these heads as well.)
