The price of shipping has gone up considerably on all carriers it seems. When the seller and I were talking about shipping, both of us were astounded that the prices were all over $100. UPS was actually the cheapest which we thought was an error on the our part given the UPS is always more expensive than the post office. Or at least used to be. Oh how I wish I would've asked him to ship it UPS! The last time I shipped a bass to someone it was about $70several months ago. A Thunderbird and it's gigantic and heavy case really added to the price.

Thanks, actually the ebony fretboard belongs to my Gibson, there is a thing with those 90s Gibsons, I think that the wood on them used to be "superior" in the 90s. The Epiphone may have a Rosewood fretboard then, it still sounds uber amazing, actually I choosed it over my Gibson to record an album and some more stuff lately.
I'm blessed to be off of the bass merry-go-round, especially in view of the now horrendous shipping charges. I paid $215 for EpiphoneVP3, poor seller paid $90 shipping, how does that math work for anyone? Especially as turned out to be a very nice bass with an extra Xtender included.
I've even waited weeks from Amazon Prime, started going to Sweetwater who often beats those shipping times.
Hopefully, shipping costs will become more reasonable post vaccine.

Yeah, the case really is enormous. Here's a pic of when I had to use a Smart car once to bring mine to a luthier. Sitting against the dashboard, it just cleared the glass hatch.
I'm so close to Sweetwater that if I order something in the morning I generally get it the next day.
I don't really see that happening, but who knows. I know the post office was told they needed to raise their shipping rates because they are hemorrhaging money every quarter at an astounding rate. One with no private company good with stand for any length of time. I believe it was something like almost $800,000 last quarter.
I believe they're not allowed to raise rates, at least significantly.

LOL - just tell the Postal Orifice that you were explaining your shipping woes to the seller and he said, "That's really too bad it hasn't made it to you, that bass is the Bomb"! Then tell them you're not sure how to take his comment, but they really should get hold of the package ASAP and make sure it's safe.
Ebony on the Gibby make sense. I personally like playing Brazilian Rosewood a little more than Ebony. It seems to have a slightly warmer sound (totally non scientific claim, just my baked in bias).
They made him so weird in the movie. I'm a Gimli fan, but especially of the REAL Gimli the great historian Tolkien described.
Brazilian rosewood is my favorite.
The D style would be to replace the standard VP bridge, not a 3 pointer. Babicz makes Tune-o-matic style bridges for guitars, but not (AFAICT) for bass.
I forgot it was Pattie for years, just remembering the LaFlammes. But then I got it on CD, and oops.
Anyway, yes, it's overall a great album, and "Girl with No Eyes" is also a personal fave. Especially since when I first heard the album, I was staying at someone's house for the summer, and there literally was a painting on the bedroom wall fo a girl with no eyes. As a 16 y/o, I'd lay and stare at that photo and listen to the song over and over. I always wondered if teh normal occupant of teh room had done that, found it, or what the story was. But I never got to ask.

I just couldn't see spending the extra money when the Supertone works so well. And I like the Supertone look. To each smrtz own!
I hate to pin a like on that post, but at least your updates are opening the eyes of others buying gear and the importance of a legitimate tracking system, which USPS really does not have. IIRC FedEx has one of the better tracking systems that updates daily or at every stop. I don't recall what UPS has.
I wonder how fast they could locate your package if you told them you were just informed that it might have an illegal hazardous substance in it?
UPS now has a map that lets you see the final delivery truck's location. Of course, if you don't know it's route, it can drive you nuts coming close and them going away again.
Maybe speaking from ignorance here, but I know they can't raise postal rates much, which I believe is different from their shipping rates. I may be wrong on that so don't quote me.

I’ve got an Epiphone T-Bird Pro and I’m planning on gutting the electronics and upgrading everything. Only problem is, I can’t really find any pickups that’ll drop into the body without doing some woodwork.
I’ve seen the recommendations of Thunderbuckers, Lollers, and I took a quick look at Lulls (until I seen the price) but I was wondering if there’s any other options? I’m trying to find some passives that won’t cost as much as the bass, but if that’s what has got to happen then it’s gotta happen.

I'd start by just reconnecting the pickups passively, no controls, to the output jack. Or swap the preamp for the controls you want, and wire it up. See how close that gets you. It's what I planned to do with my Pro V until I realized my left hand and the neck were in a painful duel to the death. Had it been a Pro IV, I'd still have it.
