Thunderbird Club

Thanos snaps his fingers, and every THUNDERBIRD bass or bass with THUNDERBIRD pickups turns to dust. He snaps again, and every bass but one - which you will get - turns into spiders, which all scurry away like basilisks are upon them.

What do you hope that bass is?

Please don’t ask why Thanos hates bass players. That story is personally embarassing.

I’d hope it was a BC Rich Beast with a body of uru forged in the heart of a dying star, and an adamantium neck and headstock. Put it through Thanos’s head, take the glove, get the basses back- especially the THUNDERBIRDS. Might kill me. Worth it.

I have only seen pics. They are gorgeous.
And lets get extra clear about this:

If I can't go with aftermarket pickups: then I would go with Kiesel's radiused single coils. Their singles are pretty darned good. Great, even. or the SPB (P bass style pickup) + a radiused single coil.

If I can go with aftermarket pickups.......hoooooo boy. I guess I could choose Nordstrand's Big Blades. The Zen blades are incredibly intriguing to me. But I have never played them. I have played Big Blades and they are pretty amazing.

Love it! Somewhat similar to my Fano

It is! Not that I'm in the market for anything, but the first thing I look for when I find an interesting bass is if it's available left-handed. The Deimel is. The luthier is left-handed, so everything is available with no up charge. I love that.

Its every bird is gone, along with anything which has bird pickups. And then from the leftovers, you get to choose one bass. And then every other bass dissappears.
All TBirds gone - I'd default to my Gibson SG Supremes. All Gibsons gone, I'd default to my Alembics.

In regard of my previous post about the wood used in the fretboard of my Epiphone Thunderbird in contrast to my Gibson Les Paul bass.
The board on the left is Rosewood, probably Madagascar or possibly Indian. The board on the right sure looks like Ebony (in need of some oil). Is that on the Eppi? Wasn't aware of any recent Eppi birds using Ebony. They have recently used Blackwood Tec, which I think is an engineered wood composite that can look a bit like Ebony especially if someone has stained it black. I have it on my Goth bird, but it's not as dark as your pic.

Yours may very well be Ebony, oil that baby up and rock her hard!

Back a couple dozen pages I posted a series of pictures of different fretboard types (post #151868). You can see typical Blackwood Tec, Rosewood and Ebony as well as other fretboard woods there.

I'm a GOF and I'm not changing now.

(G)oofy (O)ld (F)uddy-duddy?

Am I close?

I’ve been told a lot of experienced workers are taking retirement and moving on, replaced with contract workers. Management is the epitome of the Peter Principle, more so now than ever. Training is bare bones. All signs of an enterprise in big trouble.

I was thinking along the lines of them hiring newer folks that just don't Give-A-S.

They've advertised that they're hiring. Could be they're hiring idiots.

Worse... the everybody gets a trophy generation.
