Thunderbird Club

I'm working on an an recording of Now I wanna Be Your Dog and thought I'd put up a clip to see what you folks thought about the drum sound and bass tone. Its my VP with Fender flats played with a pick though my PF-50T>Transformer line out>Focusrite input. The gain is cranked (obviously).
The lead "guitar" part is my Dan Armstrong copy with an octave pedal through a Superchamp XD.

Don't know what you were shooting for, but I liked it. The fender's--which I like--seemed to lack something. But that may be me listening for what I would aim for in a given setting.

I’ve always liked that song, and the lyrics kind of fit with actual dogs, so I got the idea to record it and do a video. I’m not trying to recreate the original, but I want it to be pretty heavy. And then it occurred to me to do a little bass solo.
It took the drummer about a month to get back to me with his tracks and then the guitarist I asked for a solo never got around to it, so I thought screw it - DIY!

I like Ab m. It is easy to remember which notes are flat.
Ab m
Looks something like this...

If anyone wants to contribute some dog pics/video for “Now I Wanna Be Your Dog” ,pm me. I’ll be looking for images to go with “Face to face”, “Lay right down in my favourite place” and “Lose my heart on the burning sands” – maybe a sunny beach?
I’ll include a message in encouraging folks to support their local animal rescue – and to walk their dog

So messed up, I want you here
In my room, I want you here
Now we're gonna be face-to-face
And I'll lay right down in my favorite place
And now I want to be your dog
Now I want to be your dog
Now I want to be your dog
Well, come on
Now I'm ready to close my eyes
And now I'm ready to close my mind
And now I'm ready to feel your hand
And lose my heart on the burning sands
And now I want to be your dog
And now I wanna be your dog
Now I want to be your dog
Well, come on

I have wanted a dog for a long time. My daughter also loves dogs.

Most recently, with the state of house arrest, I have contemplated a dog many times and gotten as far as identifying dogs available for adoption that would be a good match to me.

But then I consider that during the summer about once a week I will go kayaking for several hours possibly leaving the dog at home for hours. And during the winter, I will go skiing and that takes me away from home for about 12 hours.

Office is not so bad - I work from home enough and as we don't have office space yet, I can get pet-friendly office space.

So, all things considered, there are enough times that I would be away for long enough that it just wouldn't be fair to a dog. I really wish other people would do that calculus before they get a dog.

Absolutely! Many people don’t think it through before bringing a dog into their life. It is a big commitment and they are very social creatures. Leaving them alone for long periods is not fair.
