Thunderbird Club

Mona's down with T-birds

Something could happen with my band, but Frank (my man) will not be part of it, he's learning the guitar, loves Explorers so he bought one. We won't get married until folks can safely gather, so that means it could be awhile and we're ok with it. I proposed to him because I didn't want anymore of our time together to pass without his knowing how much I love him.

That got gushy, sorry......Thunderbird.

Purple prose, purple Thunderbird. What's to be sorry about?

That is a cool bass. If I’m not mistaken, Dingwall acquiesced to a cease and desist from Gibson so they’re no longer being made. I may be mistaken though...
I think Dingwall is still making them but they did change the shape of the lower wing to look less like a TBird. Other than that, still the same great bass.

yes, it was D-Bird, then the body changes et voila! The D-Roc.

Personally I prefer the D-Bird look (and name) but I don’t know that there are significant changes elsewhere

I have a question fellow Birders: Has Gibson ever released a TB with bound body and neck? Like a special addition or Custom shop etc? I’d be interested to see what one looks like. I bet awesome.

I feel the TBird body and neck would lend itself well to being bound. I ask because Gibson seems to release about every model with binding at some point.
