Thunderbird Club

I need to spend some time in the rabbit hole with them.
40+ years of music. There is no "some" time in the rabbit hole. It is a bit of a commitment...

Well, you appreciate Geddy. I appreciate Neil.
I appreciate all three.

Tough to manage a trio when all three play lead. But they made it work.

It was a punch in the gut when I heard Neil died. It felt like I had lost a close friend.

Well, can either of the other two sing? Three of the greatest musicians on the planet.

Geddy and Alex made fun of the fact that Neil had absolutely no singing ability. Alex does do backing vocals.

Geddy has an awesome collection of original reverse and non-reverse T-Birds and his voice is perfect for Rush. I’ll tell you what I tell my wife (who also criticizes Geddy’s falsetto); it’s not Rush without Geddy wailing vocals.

Trust me, we know about Geddy's collection. It's part of why he was being ragged for the FSO, I'm sure.

Yeah. Saw that. Rumbles are what they are. Reasonably priced, super light and probably a great choice for a lot of players. It’s the same as Thunderbirds. I’d bet if everyone tried one, the approval rating would be 80% to 90% favorable.
I'm quite happy with mine-'Bird and Rumbles.

I don't remember what I paid for my 2015. I got it used in either late 2015 or early 2016, but I don't remember that either. The guy I got it from was a 7ender player and didn't understand it at all. He had put a Hipshot x-tender on it, but it was otherwise completely unplayed looking. It isn't at all unplayed looking now.

My guess is that those of us who got them early on and understood them will keep them. Those who bought them and didn't understand them already sold them to Thunderbird players. So, there probably aren't that many out there for sale any more. I used to see them pop up fairly often, but now Reverb is lucky to have one at any given time.
Best bass I own. Or will ever own. My ‘15 is an awesome THUNDERBIRD!

It would have to be blinded. Many/most players would start complaining at the sight, never having touched the instrument.

Good news for TB'ers. Got the word today that my trusty, fuzzy foto G3 Flip phone will no longer work in about 6 months. So I gotta move into the 2010's phone wise. Crap!
Seriously, get the basic iPhone that is offered for your plan. Don’t do android. The camera in even the entry level ones are really good and the iOS software just works.

... '80s ... :rollno:

Hey Miles,
I was raised on "UH" and I couldn't really notice a difference, normally I do a little research before I see a show to investigate the lineup etc but since this was a surprise, I didn't get to do that although I recognized "Mick Box" and deduced that since he and the Keyboard player appeared to be the same age & everyone else was noticeably younger that perhaps those two were the only original members, I didn't find out until later that wasn't the case (awesome drummer BTW) SO he sounded just like Hensley!!
It truly was an AMAZING show, EW was simply unbelievable "Frankenstein" was the last song & lasted about 20 minutes & he played a strap on synth, sax, percussion etc etc with a ferocity, mastery & innovation comparable only to Keith Emerson!!
Not bad for an Old Fart LOL it truly was inspiring:woot:
The Live album from ‘73 is the best live album ever. Friday night In Birmingham! Still in regular rotation on my tables.
