Thunderbird Club

What do you do, pedal-wise?

As of right now, fairly simple circuits. I'm using EasyEDA, where I can trace in the schematics, and then it'll convert it over to PCB components and a net that I can arrange and order, I think $5 for about 10 pieces of each circuit I make. I used to try out veroboard and perfboard, but to be honest this is far easier. I'm working on some modified Univox Superfuzz, Solasound Tonebenders and Fuzzfaces. Also made a modified Dallas Rangemaster, essentially the Catalinbread Nagaviper.

At least he came around, even if it was late in life.

And does he really have to own all of those Thunderbirds? There are other people on earth you know.

I figure any he day now, he'll drop in here, ask for addresses, and ship (or bring!) all the regulars one of his birds. He'll still have a huge aviary.

Hey Miles,
I was raised on "UH" and I couldn't really notice a difference, normally I do a little research before I see a show to investigate the lineup etc but since this was a surprise, I didn't get to do that although I recognized "Mick Box" and deduced that since he and the Keyboard player appeared to be the same age & everyone else was noticeably younger that perhaps those two were the only original members, I didn't find out until later that wasn't the case (awesome drummer BTW) SO he sounded just like Hensley!!
It truly was an AMAZING show, EW was simply unbelievable "Frankenstein" was the last song & lasted about 20 minutes & he played a strap on synth, sax, percussion etc etc with a ferocity, mastery & innovation comparable only to Keith Emerson!!
Not bad for an Old Fart LOL it truly was inspiring:woot:

Also, Ken was playing at his church in (IIRC) Oklahoma for a while. A friend of mine went there. I always hoped to get up there for a Sunday...

I didn't know "John Wetton" was in the "UH" lineup, LOVED his work with "KC" and "UK" which I actually got to see live with the original lineup/1st Tour at the the ole Aragon "Brawl Room" in Chicago...Time To Kill...

I saw Uriah Heep with John Wetton on the "Wonderworld" tour, after Gary Thain had passed away, I had tix to see them with Thain but sadly he died.

I'm incredibly jealous that you saw Gary Thain live.

He was so good! Not just musically, but he moved around the stage the way his fingers moved around the bass. I assume you have seen the videos from the 1973 Tokyo concert? Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get anywhere near any of the musicians. (Then again, I had no clue how back then.) At least I remember this concert clearly. There are a bunch I'm jealous I was at, because I don't remember much beyond how groovy it all felt.

This was the concert where Earth, Wind & Fire played before Heep. I've talked before about Verdine White dancing out into the crowd and making put with someone, without missing a beat. Two excellent bands, both with amazing bass players who contributed to the show in every way.

Man, I'm incredibly jealous too, I only saw JW twice with Asia & UK but also feel incredibly grateful and blessed to have witnessed it!! Especially UK, as far as "lineups" go, it doesn't get much better... Ah yes the ole Aragon in the mid seventies, pure "Magic"
RIP John & Gary and above all THANKS

always dug his Wal tone/period...also, always tried to imagine this recorded with that II.....

Yeah I always dug that"Wal tone" too but there was just something about the "Moving Pictures" tone that set it apart from anything else either studio or live, never heard anything like it again.. ALWAYS my fav...

I really like Rush a lot. I've always gravitated more towards live albums than studio. I think Rush's Exit Stage Left is fantastic. I always listened to Iron Maiden's Live After Death more than any of their studio albums.
I would rather listen to a live album than studio any day. My live albums are all in my favorites section.

Or at least invite us over for a viewing. Maybe he needs to be made a member first then informed. Invitation to one of his houses will probably be forthcoming.
