Thunderbird Club

It's Thursday, Burny Thunderbird. One of my fave live shots, it was taken while we were playing the song in the video below, the photographer, Ms. Peacock is across the stage in the silver dress.

I thought Dragon Skin were coated like Elixirs, and the colored ones were just colored.

That would seem to be the case from the description from DR. On TB and a few other places, even one string retailer, it was indicated the underlying string itself was different. This does not a chord with what DR said about both strings.

Material: K3 Black Stainless Steel. Round Core Wire....
Material: K3 Clear Coated Stainless Steel. Round Core Wire....

Yet they feel pretty different. I'm not sure I would know the dragon skins are coated if I weren't told. Not terribly important, I was just curious. Especially given one string retailer that we all know of seems to have incorrect information.

I recall hearing that many "live" albums from that era captured just the drums (or just the kick) and the crowd and then in the studio they put in the other instruments to ensure a good take.

I never heard that, just that some of them had parts overdubbed. I prefer the raw concert.

The string retailer that we all know of and of whom you speak has gone radio silent on me. Have no idea why. This pandemic thing is sure causing issues. In the overall scheme of things, a small string order is no big deal. There are way more important concerns. I just pray people are ok.

I always like to share with my neighbours...

Quick question on the pedal board... Shouldn't the high-pass go after the Quint?
I can't speak for anybody else, but I put the Broughton high/lo-pass right after the wireless receiver. That way, whatever I do to the signal afterwards is already cleaned up. And if I use an octaver, it doesn't get stripped out if I'm using sub-octaves. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

I don't know, and that is why I asked. Just logicing my way through.

Don't do that logicing thing. It is a bad thing to do. That's what I did, and see where it gets us? On different paths. Stick to Thunderbirds, watermelons, and just kinda doing something.
I wonder if there are multiple reasons for using a HPF and that changes where the HPF goes in the signal chain. But there I go logicing again...
