So far my fav settings are tone on full, either both pickups on full or either one rolled off a tad. I can’t decide my favorite yet. From what I’ve played so far I feel the classic Tbird tone is Tone and both pickups full.

I’m not sure if I like the neck pickup solo’d but the bridge pickup solo’d starts to get into Ric territory which is pretty cool because I love Rics. Actually the feel of the Tbird reminds me more of my Rics than any other bass I’ve played. The ergonomics or neck-through feel or thin body or all of the above puts Birds and Rics in the same family imo.

Anyway, now I’m just rambling, but I’m loving this bass alot and I’m wondering where you all set your pickup height and what some of your favorite setting are?

Also I’d be curious if anybody makes a big single coil Bird sized pickup? That might be cool.

On the '06 I tend to like both PUs on full for a pick playing, generally. With the current strings (DR Black Beauties:thumbsup:) I'm liking even the neck alone with pick. On my other Birds, I generally leave both on, but with this one I'm finding myself favoring the neck more than normal (fingers or pick). I also really like neck 10 and bridge about 8-9. I generally have the tone somewhere around 5, give or take a few clicks. The tone is more full in my situations not being wide open. I'm finding a lot of tasty combinations. All of these work in a live setting. At home I'm finding rolling the neck back to 9-8 with bridge 10 is interesting. No live testing there yet, so what sounds good at home may likely not translate to a big room and band setting. My tone target is big, thick with punch and some clarity, no clank or angry piano sound.

Well about playing Sunday... They clarified that churches were not included earlier this week. Today they are asked not to meet for two weeks. Don't want to seem unhelpful, but I'm far more safe there with all the precautions than Walmart, Walgreens and or a bar. Especially a bar where social distancing hasn't apparently caught on much! Officials are warning them to get with it or..... At least I finally for the 06 sounding good and can rest easy there!

Yes, here Church choirs / music was banned by Govt decree and capacity has just been reduced to 100 again.

one Church seemed to defy the order and a choir member has now tested positive and is one of the “Thai Rock” cluster. My assumption is that he was infected at the restaurant but still not a good look.

I’m hoping we will be back for Christmas, but not 100% confident.
