Help! I've fallen and I can't get up.
Oh wait, I have a beer. Maybe just bring me another.

I know! I need to upgrade my boot gameYou know the rule, no boots, NO GLAM!

@fdeck shares circuits IIRCI was asked to dumb it down. I went for sandbox level.
You don't really want to discuss 1st, 2nd, 3rd, ... , nth order filters and their relative cutoffs in dB/decade and the conversion to db/octave, do you? Me neither.
But I am now thinking about breadboarding a combination adjustable high-pass and low-pass filter. Pretty simple - a few 741 opamps, a couple of potentiometers, some resistors and capacitors...
Maybe if I have a beer the thought will go away.
Have you heard the “studio run through” version? That album is part of my soul. I have listened to it at least a thousand times. Still can’t manage to come close trying to play Siberian Khatru.
...You had too many and fell over?View attachment 3916586

Here's a little clip to hear my Bird!!!
Yep. A band at the peak of musicianship. Squire was so amazing. An example of why I think the HOF is a joke. Waiting until he passed to admit them was a travesty.Have you heard the “studio run through” version?
I used the Thunderbird to a Tech21 DP3X (Dug Pedal) to Aguilar AG 700 playing very low through my SL410x/SL210x Stack.Nice, what did you have in your signal chain to record this clip? Sounds great.
Also, I once suggested that a jazz-funk band I was in should cover Black Night. I was outvoted.

Pickups as high as possible. Tone and neck pickup on full, bridge pickup rolled off a little.Let’s talk some settings and tones. Now that I’ve had some more time to play my new Tbird.
First off this bass is super fun to play. It’s way lighter weight than it appears as well.
What is the consensus on setting Pickup height? On most my basses I set the pickups as close to the strings without hitting, usually for maximum output.
Will they sound better lowered down some?
So far my fav settings are tone on full, either both pickups on full or either one rolled off a tad. I can’t decide my favorite yet. From what I’ve played so far I feel the classic Tbird tone is Tone and both pickups full.
I’m not sure if I like the neck pickup solo’d but the bridge pickup solo’d starts to get into Ric territory which is pretty cool because I love Rics. Actually the feel of the Tbird reminds me more of my Rics than any other bass I’ve played. The ergonomics or neck-through feel or thin body or all of the above puts Birds and Rics in the same family imo.
Anyway, now I’m just rambling, but I’m loving this bass alot and I’m wondering where you all set your pickup height and what some of your favorite setting are?
Also I’d be curious if anybody makes a big single coil Bird sized pickup? That might be cool.

).I like my tone on the darker side than many here.Let’s talk some settings and tones. Now that I’ve had some more time to play my new Tbird.

A great pour. It has been a little scarce here locally since this pandemic stuff started. Although I haven’t made a concerted effort to find it, the local place I usually get it hasn’t had any in stock for a few weeks.
