I don't personally know of anyone around here doing choirs. We are less traditional than that and haven't had a choir for years, except maybe a special occasion. (We don't try to fake a Third Day concert either.) We have very few churches not taking it seriously. Very few. They tend to the ones where a handful of families attend and are kind of "out there" anyway. Most are very diligent and want to show concern for others by being very careful or not meeting if they can't take proper precaustions. Anyway, may or may not get to pay a Thunderbird this weekend.

Learn "I'll be Home For Christmas".
Good evening Thunderbird loving sisters and brothers. I am happy to report that my bird is home. The tech told me he adjusted both the nut and the saddle, as part of the new strings and set up. The buzz seems to have been cured, and I am enjoying the new Cobalt flats. I have only played a couple of hours, but am liking both the tone and feel. He pointed out a bit of a rough spot under the first and second frets, right where the fretboard is joined to the neck. Almost like a little extra glue. It didn't seem to be a cause for concern, although I am surprised I hadn't noticed it before. Anyway, I am glad to have her back. She plays like a dream. I hope everyone has had a good Friday, and has an even better weekend.

It's a littler unsettling, the inconsistency across the board concerning what's being called a deadly pandemic. The idea that the mask isn't mandated, but states are handling (or not) their own populations seems like missing ther mark.
A friend of mine sent me a video, just for consideration, where a guy who's talking mentions tuberculosis, 1.5 people dying from it but the news isn't talking about it, so it's not being treated as a pandemic.
My point is not to dismiss the current concern, but to look at how it's being handled, and consider why. Our general population is, perhaps, being handled... by someone.

I noticed the 2015 on Reverb/Ebay sold. Did anyone on here happen to snag it?
Don't know what the perfect answer is and don't want to see people lose their lives or livelyhoods, but in 1968/69 Hong Kong Flu pandemic killed 100k (would be over 200k today) and basically everything kept going and everyone kept playing their Thunderbirds. Don't recall any panic. Go figure. No 24/7 news maybe.
Thinking of trying the burst VP with Roto 66s tomorrow. Sounds like a really great match at home so we'll see how it goes in a live setting. This even coming from someone not shooting for the angry piano sound. Might be great or....might not be able to get them off fast enough.
I guess I'll do the Monday jam thing again, WX permitting.
Our group is dead in the water. Prospects are not good. So far we've lost ~45 gigs due to this

Definitely play when you get a chance and can do it safely. Really hate to hear about how it's devastated your band. Likely many others in the same shape. Given the nature of some musicians, some bands may not get back together as they have now outlived their useful symbiotic cohesion cycle. Hope that's not true for y'all. The mature will bounce back. I was off playing volleyball at my god-granddaughter's birthday.
They do more than just the AP sound on a VP. They won't go as dark as some strings, but they do have a wide range.

"This is great stuff. You can really hear what each musician is playing, before all the later overdubs. (And I like how THIS is Yes' idea of "laying down BASIC tracks" LOL) They're all great, but it always amazes me when I focus on what Chris Squire is doing - fast runs up and down the neck, little variations of the main riff. It almost sounds like he's soloing a lot of the time, but it's more like an arranged orchestral part- not just gratuitous showing off. Sometimes sounds almost like a deep, crunchier second guitar.
