Thanks! They were folks who wanted to skate. The singer put up a FB post the night before and we were unsure in any one would show up. I think the skaters were all folks who skate in roller derby's at that rink.

I too play with a pick.
For pickup height, I run the screws down until they just start to pull down the pickup, then about 1 full turn more (making sure, though, that the pickup sits level, because ocd ).
Neck pickup full, bridge pickup 7-ish, tone 7-8.

My 'Birds usually have the treble side a little higher for balance reasons. The low fundamental tone somehow fades a bit on the G string without that. Unless it is the 2015. Those pickups are screwed down as low as they can go. The magnets could lift a Volkswagen.

It was all shot just as we were allowed back outside here in PA!

I recall reading about this Thunderbird, he stated that he bought it used, the previous owner had reshaped the headstock, white Thunderbirds never fail to get noticed!

Gettin' a bass lesson from one of my faves, Mr. John Taylor of Duran Duran - Rio is an all time cool song, he breaks down here. Really fun stuff, play it on a two pickup Bird with the bridge favored!

First inspiration he mentions is George Murray. So I’ll need to study this.

"This is great stuff. You can really hear what each musician is playing, before all the later overdubs. (And I like how THIS is Yes' idea of "laying down BASIC tracks" LOL) They're all great, but it always amazes me when I focus on what Chris Squire is doing - fast runs up and down the neck, little variations of the main riff. It almost sounds like he's soloing a lot of the time, but it's more like an arranged orchestral part- not just gratuitous showing off. Sometimes sounds almost like a deep, crunchier second guitar. His bass parts just fit so perfectly. Such a huge part of the Yes sound. RIP Mr. Squire." -joefry22 on youtube

Yep. And Anderson’s unaltered vocal is excellent.

This led me to a bass cover of Rhiannon. I never noticed how Motown-esque that bass part was.

Well, you’re in my wheelhouse now. The original line is not so much Motown as basic blues. But if you like it, learn it. My brother and I are working on putting something together. It is a great song.

No, it won't. When I had my EpiBird 5er, I measured-more than once*. 'Course you'd need a new PG any way so a bit of woodworking, while necessary, would be covered. For me, the biggest problem is that it's not mahogany. And that made a difference in whether I wanted to invest time and money and prolly still not be happy. I didn't.
* remember-it was a 5er.

I'm glad that was kind of a silver lining in the Covid cloud. Reshuffling certainly isn't always a bad thing. Fortunately I've only been in a couple situations where there was some tense situations between two people. Most of the time I have been really blessed to have good relationships with everybody. But it's surly miserable when it doesn't work that way.

Dunno if you meant 'surly' or 'surely', but either works in this case.
