I have a leaning toward irreverence, which is generally pretty well/patiently received around here, and why I don't spend a lot of time in the "general population"!I thought that might be your point, but I couldn't imagine such heresy right here in the heartland of thunderbirds!
Fortunately I have always found them really comfy to play, though I tune down so that the 'standard' tuning notes are around the 5th fret, which feels more natural with the really long neck.
The bad influence is starting to spill over... my guitarist just traded for a VSB Firebird to go with his Les Paul.![]()

Once you have a couple 'Birds, they start to breed when you aren't looking. Then you will find yourself with a whole flock of 'em. Not that it's bad...Congrats on adding another TBird!
