Thunderbird Club

I'm also originally an Appalachian American. My dad & grandads were great at this stuff
I tried! :( I even used power tools! I almost was able to strip the screws! :bawl:
But for the alignment...sigh...my ocd overrode my learned inclination to have it misaligned :crying:

:roflmao:
I can sympathize. My inclination, training, and profession tend toward neatness, bordering on ocd. That fights with my ancestry. I have all my own teeth. You can figure out which one usually wins from that.

Thank you! :)

I set the current pickup height by turning the screws down until they just touched the pickup, and then leveled the pickup for ocd appeasing evenness. Only way to get them higher would be to add spacers (...I do still have those broken bits of paint stirrer I took from the Pro V....).

That harness is one of the three I was considering buying from eBay sellers for the GBP, but decided I should spend three times as much so I could do it myself (most of that was the new Weller digital temp control soldering station I decided I needed  ).
The goal is for mine to look similar, but obviously a lot less professionally-done  :(

You will NOT regret buying that Weller.

my daughter’s school friend had special glasses with different coloured lenses for dyslexia.

But I thought that was letters in words (and numbers?) being jumbled?

Never heard that it was about not telling left from right ???
Reading and numbers get swapped around on occasion, but i am not dyslexic. The right and left issue probably comes from being mostly ambidextrous. I can be equally incompetent with either hand. And do not know the difference.

Yeah.
Still have my teeth to, but one recently got capped after 30 years of being a pain in the "butt" for dentists. As close to KY as I grew up, it's a small miracle :smug:

Even though I'm doing fuel delivery now ( for the $$ and medical), I've gone to school for electronics/control systems( :jawdrop: ), machine shop, & computer science, none of which ended up working out as job paths, for various reasons.
All of which were pretty good at feeding my ocd :wideyed:

Too bad Kara is on the other side of the country. Pretty sure she could fix that issue. FWIW, my four Epis and two Gibsons are totally quiet. And I always play through Line 6 G30 wireless rigs.
It's not a big deal, but is noticeable in some situations, including church. Even the sound man asked if my bass was buzzing as couple of weeks ago. I would rather it didn't, and might shield it some day, but it's not a priority by any means.

Two words - star grounding.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not sure if it's a grounding or shielding issue. It doesn't get louder when I touch anything but it can make a difference if I turn the bass in in certain directions. Would that tend to indicate shielding rather than grounding? I've had this some with my old single coil Pbass but not anything else.

Sounds exactly like something I could type. Part of my family did come from North Carolina. Maybe..... Likely not.

Yeah.

Here now. I'll have you know that it's not true that most people in Eastern Ky are missing teeth. Some just require less than others. I don't live in the eastern part of the state and have all my teeth. Several have crowns due to accidents and likely popcorn cracking a tooth.

Ky is something of an odd mix. I think I mentioned before that 20 years ago I saw an article that Ky had both the second lowest income zip code and the second highest. I don't recall how they figured it, but was shocked. I think the lowest was in AZ or something like that.

In TN, we had a KY joke I always liked
"Toothbrushes were invented in Kentucky. If they had been invented anywhere else, they would've been called teethbrushes" :roflmao:

Of course, it's sometimes fun to change the state, depending on the audience ;)

Could well be shielding. Unless you have a pickup running as a single coil.

If it is a shielding issue, it can be a PITA to shield the control cavity. Maybe try shielding the room instead.

Sounds like an excellent reason (excuse) to give the garage its own standalone climate control system...
It does. It would take forever to get it all straightened out though. But maybe. Our son moved in last year and has a lot of “stuff.” But he might get motivated; he has a ‘32 Model A pickup waiting for him at his grandfather’s. There would be room if he got motivated and got it all sorted.
