Thunderbird Club

Since people were struggling with the translation a bit I went to the website and grabbed a random paragraph for translation. To be honest my Czech is a bit rusty, but from what I can gather BaCH must be a Pharmaceutical company founded by bass players. Here's the paragraph followed by the rough translation...

To vše v několika barevných odstínech a strukturách koženky.

Dubious ointments won't heal nasty, crusty and puss filled heads, naturally.
V Royce 2005 Cream is exactly the very best prescription BaCH provides to date.
Take religiously nightly with kiwi fruit - you'll feel jazzy, cool and happy, cool like a Rickenbacker, happy like a bass player.
To feel new and refreshed order a shipment today.

If only there were a way to monetize this amazing skill!

Brilliant! :roflmao:

Just dropping this in here.....These guys probably got lost in the vast number of L.A. Hair Metal bands of the late '80 early '90s which is a bit of a shame. I'd quite forgotten the delicious, skanky groove the bass line of this song has, Kyle Kyle playing (as Andy noted) a Hagstrom Les Paul shaped bass.

According to their website, they're still out there a-doing it. With a lotta personnel changes over the years.

All the original members *were* going to tour in 2020, obviously not happening - If it does I'm going to try to see them should they come to Seattle.

Well I guess you haven't heard that Rotos will shred your fingers to where you can't or won't want to play and eat massive ruts in your frets????:nailbiting::jawdrop:

I hadn't played them since the '80s and hesitated trying them from all the horror stories. Bought a set and found it was all another example of internet hysteria. They have their own feel, but also their own sound!

I always used Roto Sound Rounds on my old 4001 Rick, they ate the frets and the finish off of the fretboard. I wondered if Rick wasn't using pewter or perhaps tin solder for frets...... I had it re-fretted, at least the money frets.
For the tone I wanted ( like Geddy and Chris Squire) I eventually switched to Ken Smith Rounds as they held onto their brightness and clank for a much longer time........

The KS Rounds are on my list of strings to try one day, thanks to the conversations here. I really just need more basses.....o_O I do like the mid punch of Rotos, but do soften the clank, as I'm not going to Squire type tones.

I wonder about frets of years gone by that might not have been as durable as those made today, generally. I only used them on a couples basses, and don't recall any wear. But I play fairly light, and I think I recall you really get after it pretty good. That may also account for me not noticing wear.

I found them to be pretty awful sounding immediately. After a few hours on the Flamingo, they sounded perfect. I guess they needed some grime from my fingers or I needed to get used to them and figure them out. The ones on that bass are 50-110 if I remember right, so just a little heavier. I like them a lot and will probably keep using them on that bass.

I hadn't seen Kyle Kyle play a Bird before. The videos from the first album he was playing an old Hagstrom.

Brilliant, thanks for that! Loved Bang Tango, it was between them and LA guns for me back in the day. Managed to see them over here in the UK back in 1994 I think. Great show, just a bit different to the other bands on the glam / sleaze scene.
