Thunderbird Club

Brilliant, thanks for that! Loved Bang Tango, it was between them and LA guns for me back in the day. Managed to see them over here in the UK back in 1994 I think. Great show, just a bit different to the other bands on the glam / sleaze scene.

Nice! I love that stuff, I know '80s-'90s "Hair Metal" isn't everyone's idea of great stuff - I'm weak for it.

Since Bryan mentioned LA Guns here they're on the steps of some municipal building in Denver.

I loved a lot of that stuff back then. The dirtier, sleazier bands scratched my hard rock itch but my musical taste was all over the place. Smashed Gladys, The Sea Hags, etc were all faves of mine. But this was my absolute favorite late 80s band. They did the sleazy rock but had a bit of country/bluesy stuff as well. They were slightly different to most of the scene. (There is Tbird content in the video)

It's kinda 'funny'. I play big band, 60s-70s rock and country, and (whatever). This is the stuff I listen to on SiriusXM. Just not a lot of call for an overweight, 75 y/o (gray)hair metal bass man in this neck o' the woods.
sure?.....

That he is!
I remember seeing AC/DC live for the first time in the mid 1970's. In the States they weren't very well known at the time. They were a warm up band at one of the Oakland Day on the Green concerts.
I LMFAO when Angus did his signature duck scoot across the stage in his little school boy outfit. Love a lot of their songs. With the help of a friend of a friend in the music biz I managed to get a guitar signed off by the band.
Man, I wish I could've seen Bon Scott live.

Wow! Just sold my roughest old set of TIs for $25 over in the classifieds in less than an hour. Had four people lined up. They weren't used up by any means considering they can last over a decade easily, but the silks were pretty rough from being tried on several basses. I need to let go of another used set. At a higher price! I've got a bunch of D'As that I've never had sound good on anything, but seem to come on most everything.
Like the guy in Boston who posted the ‘13 Reverse with a Hipshot a couple weeks back for like $900, local pickup. It sold way fast. Pretty sure he was kicking himself...

Was anyone here the buyer? It looked to be a stellar deal.

No it wasn't. I would have offered here first, but there doesn't seem to be much interest in TI flats. They do sound good on the '76. I think was a good deal. I wanted to move them. We are looking to move and I'm on vacation and was going through some strings. Found three sets of TIs and let the most rough set go. One less them to carry, and they covered for one of my recent sets. They are always good sellers. That's the third set I've sold over the years.

LOL - plus it has the added benefit of stress reduction on the headstock, which is prone to launch off the neck at the slightest provocation. ;)

Seriously, the white bass with neon strings would be way cool on stage under black lighting. Some matching fingernail polish, lipstick and hair dye would make for an awesome stage presence.

I have the nail polish for that, just need to work on getting the other two!

Padres closer Trevor Hoffman was their biggest fan; Late 90’s into the 2000s. He’d take the mound to Hell’s Bells. One of the coolest things ever.

I'm watchin' it. Might call tomorrow. Not too far to drive.
I have a couple of Gibby SG Supreme basses and love them every bit as much as my TBirds. Have not played the Eppi but if sounds anything like the Gibby you're gonna love it.

Just noticed an interesting option from the seller...
"Electronically the Bass works as it should. A good starter bass or a smaller person. Make an offer today!"

Looks like you get your choice of a bass or a small person. I'd recommend the bass. :D

I don't know. Small people can be very handy to have around.

It'll depend on the smaller person.
My first real bass was a 66 Gibby EB-3. I only used the Mudbucker so this would be like a trip back in time. Sorta.

90% of the time I Solo the neck as well.
Heck, I was even considering dropping an SG/EB pickup at the neck on my FrankenGoth TBird. Might still do it but considering the bird is full scale and the SG is SS it might not sound very similar.

George, I’m beside myself! If I had it it would go straight to the poolroom !

Man, I wish I could've seen Bon Scott live.
I saw Bon twice before they went to England, and once on the tour after the first England stint. Can’t remember the name of the tour - I have the ticket somewhere - but I know the name proposed for the tour would not be fit for a family publication.

Bon Scott had charisma.

Lots of the NRL teams here play AC/DC as the pre kickoff music, to start and after halftime too some of them.

My team plays “The Saints are Coming” just before kickoff... and “Oh When The Saints....” on the increasingly rare occasions that we get a win. :rollno:

Manly Sea Eagles play “Eagle Rock” by Daddy Cool, of course.

Still mahogany, oughta sound similar.

.

LOL - my last house had a pool room and large built in bar. I finished the room in a HardRock Cafe theme with signed guitars from AC/DC, Alice In Chains, The Eagles, ZZTop and Ozzy hanging on the walls. I wish my current home had a pool room, the next house certainly will.

Wow! That sounds great to me....

Any photos ?
