Not sure if this link will work but some more Thunderbird action from the late 80s with Vain. Saw these last year and still a great band.
Nice! I love that stuff, I know '80s-'90s "Hair Metal" isn't everyone's idea of great stuff - I'm weak for it.
Since Bryan mentioned LA Guns here they're on the steps of some municipal building in Denver.
I think that was specific to a period of Rickenbacker using really soft fret wire.I wonder about frets of years gone by that might not have been as durable as those made today, generally. I only used them on a couples basses, and don't recall any wear. But I play fairly light, and I think I recall you really get after it pretty good. That may also account for me not noticing wear.

Some how I just knew I could count on you. that would explain a lot..I think that was specific to a period of Rickenbacker using really soft fret wire.
Low sales?it’s what the T’bird was made for! Just looks sooo right in that setting. Was meant to be seeing LA Guns this weekend but for some reason it got cancelled
Those strings look neat, but I bet it's gonna be difficult to bring them up to pitch without any bolts holding the bridge in place.![]()

LOL - plus it has the added benefit of stress reduction on the headstock, which is prone to launch off the neck at the slightest provocation. That's the newest, state-of-the-art, high-tech "floating bridge" design, designed to permanently resolve all issues associated with bridge inserts that rudely won't stay where they should.![]()
LOL - wouldn't this be "boy drag"...I spend way too much time in Boy Drag![]()
