I’ve done that twice now. Passed because they had to be in the 13 pound range. Seeing what they go for now, and if I were you, I’d think really hard about getting it, so long as it’s all there. The knobs on the one Chucky is playing are worth about $150 alone. Maybe get one of those stands to hold it while playing...There's a pawn shop in ABQ that's had one sitting on the wall for a while now, and every time I go in there I think about it - then I pick it up and I have to pop my shoulder back in the socket. They are nice sounding basses, though.
Please make your selves at home here, we encourage questions, not the "Search" function, the folks are more than happy to chat you up and offer knowledge (and watermelons). A sense of humor is recommend as well,
There is nothing humorous about watermelons. They are deadly serious.

I saw them in Toronto on that tour. The encore was incredible. Jeff Beck and SRV. Then they bring out Jeff Healey as well.
I don't know if Jeff Healey was ever popular outside of Canada, but he was an incredible player.

He toured here pretty extensively in the nineties. Haven’t heard about him in years. Kinda a one hit wonder.I saw them in Toronto on that tour. The encore was incredible. Jeff Beck and SRV. Then they bring out Jeff Healey as well.

True. Sturgeon's Law. But a lot of the crap I can avoid without much inconvenience. Music being such an integral part of me, I end up heavily over-exposed to crap. It's gotten so bad in Austin (Austin!) that I seldom listen to any of the music channels on the radio.
Yeah, he as everywhere in the 90s. He had several solid blues albums, but I think the only hit in the US was Angel Eyes. But some time around 2000 (maybe earlier) he slowed/stopped touring, in part I think because he had a family. He owned and operated (and played at) a blues bar in Toronto. And he died in 2008.He toured here pretty extensively in the nineties. Haven’t heard about him in years. Kinda a one hit wonder.

We used to do a couple of his tunes. He passed way too soon, at 41 from cancer issues.
I'm catching up, but hate to hear that.VERY bad day financially for the family, forced to sell my VP(alot of my gear will have to hit the market I fear)

Nice rockin' drum & bass solo by Rick Laird - MO is near and dear to my development as a young musician/bass player. (and great drum solo from BC)
I find that KEXP out of Seattle is also a great station for discovering music. And the YouTube channel with the in-studio performances is excellent.KPFA here in the Bay Area plays a pretty eclectic mix of cool music. I always hear something unexpected and new/different. Otherwise I learn about music I'm not aware of from friends and surfing the web.
Laird was gone by the time I discovered them during the Ponty years. But that album is classic.
When do we get the Suzi Quatro unboxing? I am especially looking forward to that.
We are spoiled up here. We have KEXP and KBCS and KNKX is not too bad for fairly tame real jazz. There is probably a smooth jazz station but I avoid Kenny G type noodling. My son lived in LA and now lives in Dallas. He reminds me that we are spoiled.I find that KEXP out of Seattle is also a great station for discovering music.
