Older houses are often so beautiful and have a charm often lacking in newer houses. But I learned growing up working maintenance as a kid and later construction (but mostly commercial) that I wanted nothing to do with older houses. As beautiful as an older house can be, a 80 yr old house has 80 yr old problems, even with substantial improvements, and 80 years of people doing things they didn't know how to do. But so often the architecture and craftsmanship was was often amazing. Often, not always.
Yep the old growth fir flooring was beautiful. 2 years after we sold it, the realtor called and said “did you know that house has vermiculite insulation?”

A Vince sighting is more rare than a JJR58 sighting these days. I do see him randomly on FB tho.

Thats great!! We hit the market Friday morning, had a full price offer Saturday morning along with a couple other less competitive offers. Home inspection is scheduled for Monday. Hoping they don't find any surprises we aren't aware of. We take care of the place but you just never know whats behind the walls. Hoping everything goes great with your deal as well!!

I was just razzing him, we're in touch.

I've been looking for this vid, I'd forgotten which of our friends had shot it, anywho TNH from about a year ago playing Peter Schilling's "Major Tom". I'm playing my Lull T4 II through my GK 700RBII and the SWR 6x10 with nothing else in the signal chain, the pup in that bass is hot and if you at the amp you'll see the "clip" light flashing quite a lot.

Happy Thursday!

V - I never tire of the band videos you post, so many great clips! But this one might be my favorite. You were killin it on bass and the rest of the band was equally hot! As always, the crowd was totally into the music as well. If I'm ever up your way I'll have to hit a show. In the meantime, pass my hugs and kisses on to the rest of the band for a gig well played.

Heading down to the beach for the week. Trying to decide what to take. I usually take the little Mustang. But I’m thinking of taking the two Gibsons and the VP since I’ll be there eight full days. Should be a good week in the shed. Won’t be doing much else with social distancing and all that; not going out to eat or shopping, just relaxing and getting a bit of a change of scenery.

Proper strings on the T-bird.
Sure, they're new and will have to be broken in, but I think they're a good match.
Bass savvy...always finding the perfect strings!

This house had knob and tube wiring and some 70’s wiring. And light fixtures with no boxes:eek:
Stripping the layers off the fir flooring in the kitchen was like an archeological dig.
But I digress...Thunderbirds!

My house was built in `68 or `69. It has aluminum wiring. Aluminum wiring despite its reputation is safe as long as you don't mess with it. Before taking possession, licensed electricians upgraded the panel to 200 amp service, rewired the 220 for the stove and dryer, added a new circuit to the kitchen for the fridge, and went through replaced all the receptacles and switches with correct copper to aluminum connections.

Thunderbird Thursday!

 Not always a bad thing, but not idea. It may or may not have asbestos in it. Hopefully yours didn't. I don't know if one region is more likely have it with asbestos or not. What percentage I think would be anyone's guess. The possibility is good enough reason to consider moving. But as long as not disturbed it shouldn't be a problem. I don't know if it keeps expanding decades later and that movement would be problematic or not. Having to do some work would definitely be another matter of concern.
