Well looks like no NBD today, checking FedEx my bass, in 17 hours, managed to go from one small town in Utah 20 minutes down the road to another small town in Utah. Way to go FedEx, that's efficiency.
UPS not doing much better....Monday now...an early morning report stated “Cleared Customs”...a subsequent early afternoon one stated “At Stanstead”...how does that happen? unless there’s a US Customs office over there?.....

Healthy competition is good for kids. Studies have shown that kids (especially boys) fall behind when they aren't competing.
Not to mention that kid who was way better than everyone should really be getting praise for their work and it also gives the other kids something to strive for.
The trick is to make sure that the kids who don't "win" feel encouraged and want to continue to improve.

The people running it were doing a good job, and the fams and contestants were all encouraging each other.

I agree that evaluation and testing is an important part of education. And I get that competition can be a part of that.
I just don’t see value in talent competions.

This sort certainly has value for the winners. It can have value for the rest, too, if they've learned to self-evaluate.

The classics, a little black dress and a 'burst Thunderbird II.

As you well know I'm a model airplane dork. One of my greatest joys in life is building and collecting them. When heading down to the basement I kid my wife I'm going to go play with my model, maybe the German one or the French, maybe English, depends on my mood. Always good for a swat on the way down the stairs ;)

Yup when I was a kid I use to bug my Mom constantly to buy me model cars, airplanes, boats, whatever was available to the point where the poor woman couldn't make "ends meet" sometimes just to blow them all up on the 4th!!
Needless to say she wasn't to happy about that!!
But it sure was Fun:roflmao:
