Thunderbird Club

I did the same thing once with this vid and watched Kingfish for a bout two hours. This is worth watching.

Saw/heard him play last year in SF with Buddy Guy, his mentor. One great show by a legendary showman and his protege.

Thunderbird Thursday again!

Does anyone know if the t-bird buckers are wider than a jazz single coil?

I am thinking of putting together a parts bass--either a thunderjag or a thundermeteora. The former would require me to route out the bridge pickup spot on a jag body, which I am fine with, but if the J pickup is wider, I don't know if I want to mess around with having to fill it in.

Not 100% sure for Fender pickups, but the EMG j-pup I've got looks to be slightly wider

Edit: but if you use the p/u rings, might cover the gap...

I agree, that move really helped the balance. And both my CP & VP have the button in that location from the factory.

Moving the rear strap-button was mostly for height adjustment. I put it in the same location as some of the Nikki Sixx Thunderbirds I've seen. Most unfortunately, I am a bit tall (like, Floor Jansen tall...), and getting strap length & 'bird height as I wanted was...challenging. Now, it's no problem ;)
And still balances well:)
I am not quite that tall, but very close, and have simian arms. A long strap is an absolute necessity for a Thunderbird.

She was wearing a long red dress and playing an acoustic/electric bass.

The $'s a joke. I'm doing it to save the gig for the others. The burgers are cooked the way I like them(medium rare, pepperjack cheese, hold the rabbit food)and the cucumber salad is terrific. Unfortunately, they don't carry a porter/stout.
Oooh! Long red dress...

After owning my first BlackBird I added a strap button in the "Sixx Spot" on a couple basses. It is nice to have that extra option for adjustability.

****Nevermind. I found the thread and GBassNorth had provided the info.*****I know its off topic but....a while back someone shared their home warranty company they were super happy with. I am blanking on who but I think it may have been Goalee?? Anyhow, if you see this would you please share the name once again? We are thinking of changing companies for the new house. Thanks

Oh yeah, Thunderbird Thursday!! An oldie for the holiday season.
