Thunderbird Club

So what's the verdict, which locations are best for neck dive?
If you have a Thunderbird that has a strap button on the vestigial upper bout, move it to the base of the neck. That's all it takes to make a Thunderbird balance well. There are other things that have been done, but that's all I have ever needed. Gibsons and most Epiphones are already like that these days.

Just spent 2 hours going down a YouTube rabbit hole - typed in House of the Rising Sun covers and must have played along with at least 30 different artists. Some really interesting takes on the song that range from Bluegrass to Death Metal. The modded Goth covered them all quite loud and very nicely.
(Now I need to go downstairs and pick up all the Christmas tree ornaments that shook off the tree).

Heres a fun one...

I did the same thing once with this vid and watched Kingfish for a bout two hours. This is worth watching.

I agree, that move really helped the balance. And both my CP & VP have the button in that location from the factory.

Moving the rear strap-button was mostly for height adjustment. I put it in the same location as some of the Nikki Sixx Thunderbirds I've seen. Most unfortunately, I am a bit tall (like, Floor Jansen tall...), and getting strap length & 'bird height as I wanted was...challenging. Now, it's no problem ;)
And still balances well:)

No cable or anything, so the fact I just saw this doesn't mean much, except rats.
No Thunderbirds were involved(some kind of AEB).
And on the subject of TBirds, there'll be one being played tomorrow night (Thursday). I got drafted to fill in-sort of-with 2 of the other guys in our band. One of the guitarists, who also plays bass, was in an accident and is pretty sore so I was asked to cover the gig. He usually provides the PA so I gotta take mine. 'Course I get extra for that.:rollno: The way the place is set up I'll definitely be practicing anti-social distancing. At least I get a 'burger outta the deal.

Will play for burgers!

Will play for burgers!
She was wearing a long red dress and playing an acoustic/electric bass.

The $'s a joke. I'm doing it to save the gig for the others. The burgers are cooked the way I like them(medium rare, pepperjack cheese, hold the rabbit food)and the cucumber salad is terrific. Unfortunately, they don't carry a porter/stout.

I realize the Birds aren't going to win, but this is a pitiful showing...
What Bass Guitar is the G.O.A.T
I voted, Thunderbird of course.
Always interesting to see where people's opinions fall on something like this. Would be even more interesting if they weeded out the uninformed and just counted votes from individuals that have significant experience with each of the basses listed. I currently own nearly every bass on that list and have played the Ric and Hofner. I'll stick with the TBird as the GOAT mass produced bass (followed very closely by a P bass), and probably an Alembic series I or II as the GOAT boutique bass.
