So, your progression isOh Yeah! I do have a set of RS66s if I need to go next level.
Dead 7ender flats->Cobalt flats->RS66
I wonder if there is something not quite as bright as RS66 but a bit brighter than Cobalt flats...

I’ve ended up keeping the CFs on the ‘15 because they sound great and are so finger friendly smooth. I do recommend following the installation instructions for them though.Oh Yeah! I do have a set of RS66s if I need to go next level.
Really? I followed instructions last time with CFs and regretted it. Wrapping the strings like that, I'd get creaking sounds when tuning.I’ve ended up keeping the CFs on the ‘15 because they sound great and are so finger friendly smooth. Well not in my house - those are the new packs of strings I have on handSo, your progression is

I too have regretted Cobalt Flats...Really? I followed instructions last time with CFs and regretted it. Wrapping the strings like that, I'd get creaking sounds when tuning.
Huh. They’re fine for me. But man, installing them on the small Tbird pegs was tedious given the stiffness of the wire. Most time I’ve ever spent installing strings. Should be a lot easier on the larger diameter VP pegs.Really? I followed instructions last time with CFs and regretted it. Wrapping the strings like that, I'd get creaking sounds when tuning.
I got that when not following the instructions. I think it's inherent to the strings in some applications. I admit it's an odd sound. I think it's the molecular structure of the plutonium 239 breaking down. Which I suspect can cause finger soreness in certain advanced individuals.Really? Vice President seconds the President's comment.I too have regretted Cobalt Flats...

Speaking of strings, put on a new set of my SIT Power Steels. I had help. Got over four months on the last set.

Close. When you get yours I'll give you some good starting points.Are those settings on the MBD your usual settings?

Ah, great. Well those are pretty much my settings. I'd start with Tone, Gain, and Clean at 12:00, and Depth at 3:00. Tweak Gain to your taste. Depth will get woolier as you turn it up, kinda tube-like. The Shift switch boosts the mids I think. I use it when in a bad mix, but turn it off when just playing alone at home. I've been also turning up Depth a bit with the band, but down to 3:00 at home. Even if I turn down the Gain at home, I like having it on all the time because it really seems to tighten stuff up.I have it but most of my gear is packed away for the upcoming move. I have been able to mess with it a little bit thru a Crate combo and so far I like what I am hearing. Looking forward to getting my "real" amps out to give it a proper test.

How about Lord Stanley of straight cut?
Be welcome. Feel free to choose a title; may I suggest Lord Stanley of Measuring?

It’s the simple silly things that drive you nuts.no number lol, it’s a top of the line Deluxe P that believe it or not will lose the string through inserts (will literally fall off) if strung through the bridge alone...![]()
