Thunderbird Club

I’ve ended up keeping the CFs on the ‘15 because they sound great and are so finger friendly smooth. I do recommend following the installation instructions for them though.
I have tapes on the '15 for now. Funny thing is that they seem to be much lower tension than Black Beauties. I had to adjust everything when they went on.

I got that when not following the instructions. I think it's inherent to the strings in some applications. I admit it's an odd sound. I think it's the molecular structure of the plutonium 239 breaking down. Which I suspect can cause finger soreness in certain advanced individuals.;)
No problems for us cave dwellers.

Tapes would have lower mass (per unit length) than rounds or flats, so I would expect lower tension and a full set up being needed. But what do I know, I am more chemist than physicist...

Finally! The new package arrived! :D

That means a new pic for a new Thunderbird Thursday!

...wait.

That...that's not a Thunderbird logo! :jawdrop:

I've seen a number of Schecter Nikki Sixx models in this thread.

But there's another Schecter signature model bass which is based on the Thunderbird to be found.

The Simon Gallup Ultra Spitfire.

Which I find is a much better looking re-think of the T-bird than the Nikki Sixx model is. Anybody with me here?

The Cure "Pictures of you" live 2019 with Gallup playing the snot out of the Spitfire. And boy, that song will always be so frigging beautiful.

I have the Sixx and it's a well made, but heavy bass. Based on its quality I would snag one of the Spitfire's in a heartbeat.

I’m guessing one of these?

Good guess, but what it really is....

I've been wanting one of these for a while, put in the order at the same time as the Peavey amp, but were still on backorder.

Now just waiting for Santa to bring me the "required, not included" 18v power supply :wideyed:

...or me, when I make a decision.
(Spoiler alert: Santa ain't real :( :crying: :( :crying: )
