Oh, that's interesting. The NR has a volute at the headstock joint. Does the Studio? The Studio is like that too, no pitch.
The newer NR's have the volute. The 60's don't.Oh, that's interesting. The NR has a volute at the headstock joint. Does the Studio?
I wonder if there would've been fewer headstock breaks if the 60s ones had it.The newer NR's have the volute. The 60's don't.
My guess is that's why they were added to the 2012's.I wonder if there would've been fewer headstock breaks if the 60s ones had it.
Yet not to the Reverse. My guess is that's why they were added to the 2012's.
Well, it is Gibson/Epi.Yet not to the Reverse.
my luthier guy was saying that when modern Gibson necks (with volutes) break they do so around the second position although not as common...blames the angled hs..I wonder if there would've been fewer headstock breaks if the 60s ones had it.
Ah, thanks. I look forward to that.my luthier guy was saying that when modern Gibson necks (with volutes) break they do so around the second position although not as common...blames the angled hs..
Yeah, the elimination of the tone pot was really because of lack of room. The belly cut is near the new cavity. I'm totally happy with just VV. And yes, the Reverse is all stock, other than some reversible things like the bridge and pickup rings. Hopefully I'm right that eliminating the tone pot makes it as if it's with tone maxed. I need to match the height of the pickups between the two and change the strings, so I'll really compare once they're more on par.

Oh, I didn’t realize the studio didn’t have a neck angle, now I really want one!The Studio is like that too, no pitch.
You prefer the neck not angled back?Oh, I didn’t realize the studio didn’t have a neck angle, now I really want one!
The only time it seemed underpowered was when I was playing with a guitarist that had a 100 watt Highwatt.always had a hard time getting those dialed in....dunno if they were setup with a wrong cabinet or what but they seemed underpowered and blandish... pretty convinced it was me and my lack of experience....
Always here to help.Actually, I trying to hold back a serious bass boner for that gene Simmons model with flat top, modern bridge and white binding. It looks like a combo of Nikki sixx, Spector birds and his black bc rich with white binding. Unless they put out something cooler, I may be dropping way to much $ on one of those. This bird thing is really becoming an addiction. Thanks a lot guys.
I can see where that could be true. I blended both channels and used the EQ. Sounded great with my Peavey 215 or 15 sparkly Jensen's. But if a bass player were to look at my settings before hearing they would likely think a moron set the EQ. Well, they may have been true anyway.... I agree on the under powered aspect. It worked fine for what I needed it to do, but I don't think those watts were a real watts!always had a hard time getting those dialed in....dunno if they were setup with a wrong cabinet or what but they seemed underpowered and blandish... pretty convinced it was me and my lack of experience....
