Thunderbird Club

Volume/volume is a neat touch and just takes this bird one step further down the ultra cool and unique route. Would be interested to hear how it sounds compared to your other 2013 bird (assuming your other one is standard vol/vol/tone).
chrome next.........

No tone right? Always liked that look (like Peterson playing a lefty NR righty) but you now have a REALLY rare bird...is the PG gonna be more akin to an NR PG or a Reverse PG? from the looks of it, the original PG holes were filled in the refin? kinda hard to tell from the pic. nice going dude:thumbsup:
Correct. No tone. I wanted that Petersson NR so badly, but $12k was insane. The pickguard will be a regular NR pickguard, but with the Thunderbird logo 'upside down.' And thanks!

Yeah, the elimination of the tone pot was really because of lack of room. The belly cut is near the new cavity. I'm totally happy with just VV. And yes, the Reverse is all stock, other than some reversible things like the bridge and pickup rings. Hopefully I'm right that eliminating the tone pot makes it as if it's with tone maxed. I need to match the height of the pickups between the two and change the strings, so I'll really compare once they're more on par.

I used my MB200 yesterday, and that got me thinking I should run my old Peavey - keep the juices flowing as they say. First new amp I ever bought. I played a lot of gigs over the years with this Centurian and an Acoustic 2x15 cab curiously named the 106.View attachment 4103831
My first real amp I owned was a new Peavey "Bass" Mk III or IV from around '78 I believe. Served me well many years and worked fine when I sold it a couple years ago.

Btw, there was no refinish. Original burst. He just thickened the black edges a little and I guess resprayed the nitro.

Mine is from 78 or 79 IIRC. The only repair it ever had was when it fell and a fuse popped out, shorted and burned a circuit board trace. A tech soldered the board and its been fine since.

always had a hard time getting those dialed in....dunno if they were setup with a wrong cabinet or what but they seemed underpowered and blandish... pretty convinced it was me and my lack of experience....
