A parting shot from 2020. 2021 is going to be an improvement. One of my favorite guitarists, it isn't a surprise but I find myself quite sad.

I probably have heard it before, but don't recall. The education continues. I love this place. One of my favorite Mountain songs.
Sorry, thought you got the memo. If it works out, we’ll all be spending like drunken sailors this coming year. I figure I’ve saved the cost of at least one bass not commuting since March.Does this mean we all need to start saving money?
Same here, except that I have blown it on other things. Like, um, I dunno where it went.Sorry, thought you got the memo. If it works out, we’ll all be spending like drunken sailors this coming year. I figure I’ve saved the cost of at least one bass not commuting since March.
KaraQ performs a Christmas miracle! Water into wine, naw that's already been done, she changed dollars into parts! The folks at Amazon sent me some new Thunderbird accessories!
They were even kind enough to trade, even, for some fairly worthless $$ I had lying about!

Merry Christmas Everybody! A Christmas greeting and a little bass nonsense. All the best to my bass brothers here.
Watching old Mountain clips led me to, of course, some TYA. Check this out. Leo goes crazy beginning around 2:45. So good.
You got shorter over time? When I was that age I was tall and lanky as well.

Don't tempt 2020. We still have to survive another week.A parting shot from 2020. 2021 is going to be an improvement.

Right? But still....I have long had an irrational desire to have a V bass.
Lol me as well! The Pitbull kit is a good budget solution. Be warned finishing, assembly and set up are major time investments, a instruments value lays largely in these areas. I am still doing final set up on the bass and have yet to dress the frets though the neck is playable.I have long had an irrational desire to have a V bass.
.... Something tells me we may see a similar project from our friend @KaraQ in the coming year. May jump on that bandwagon as well. Looks like fun

There are certainly better recordings of these guys in the zone. But the visual in this clip is just amazing. Leo’s hands. It is better through a decent sound system, but far from ideal. I loved these guys when I was a kid. That recording was such a disappointment for me. Great players on stage, fantastic song, awesome arrangement for the cover, phenomenal playing and showmanship by both the guitarist and bass player!
All ruined by a sound engineer that completely buried the bass in the mix.
Granted I'm listening to it on an iPad speaker, but during that flurry of notes being played by Leo darned if I could hear even 10% of them. He might as well have been playing an air guitar. Bloody shame considering the talent on stage. Would love to hear an isolated bass track of that performance.
Underwater electrics. That explains a lot.
RUN!!!!!!
