And this is it - any bass can become 'that' bass. Regardless of vintage, brand, "worth", contemporary mass market appeal... a bass one bonds with is special. Why? Because it is a key to creative expression. Full stop. Rock the bass that is that for you.

Damn right. My Carvin is no Thunderbird, but every time I pick it up and play it, I get a huge smile on my face. Wonderful bass. First one I bonded with.

I have 3 other basses(I know-piker), but it's the 'Bird that's always my first choice. The one that feels right, whatever genre of music I'm playing. It has been since I first transitioned to it in '73. And I feel I can make it fit in any situation.
