Yeah, one band does play Mustang Sally. At least I get to play it on a Thunderbird. And they still end up playing Mustang Sally, lol

Then the entire club shall start sending a flood of messages to your band until they add it to the set list.Ha! We have over a hundred songs and Mustang Sally is not among them.

Mistakes, and how you deal with them, is what brings forward the best of your playing. On a good night, no one has any idea you made any at all.

Hmm.... Yeah I had my wireless crap out on me mid song last night, I always keep a cord on stage but that was a little awkward! My ass is kicked today, got up early to ride the Bainbridge Island ferry back to Seattle, unloaded the Subie and crashed for two hours.......Ugh post show![]()
I don't even make a Goth look that small and I'm 6'6", 275.
Or me at 169 (and a bit) cmsNeither do I, and I'm 5'6"
Never played it, never will. And they still end up playing Mustang Sally, lol
I've never even heard it requested, actually. Never heard it an open mic, either. The singer wanted to do it at one point and we refused.
I seem to end up playing it at every open mike I go to- sounded good on a TBird actually.![]()
Leon Wilkinson played a Thunderbird...Never played it, never will.

Last gig someone called out "freebird." We said we'd play it if they put $100 in the jar.
Don't know who that is.Leon Wilkinson played a Thunderbird...

Yeah, not saying they're bad. Just kinda hit or miss for me.We write a set list and stick to it - plus we're really an '80s band. I'm in complete agreement with you on Mustang Sally, and feel the same about Freebird, we don't know it and never will.
Not to say I don't like L.S., I saw a local Tribute band recently and thought them quite good, the Bass Chair requires some chops.
I can dig it. But, they were a very talented bunch back before their plane crashed in the Everglades back in '76. "That Smell" has a brilliant 3-guitar jam. Leon was a fine player as well, dig his bass intro to "Gimme Back my Bullets"...Not much of a fan of theirs.
