Thunderbird Club

I appreciate that. I was thinking these we worth giving a chance. I'll keep playing with them and see if I can't dial them in. Thank you!
I have a 2013 EB like yours, and it's what convinced me that I really needed a 2015 Thunderbird. It's amazing what you can get out of those pickups. Having both convinced me that wood does make a difference. The mahogany 'Bird is just a bit darker than the ash and maple EB. And, I have found that you have to lower the pickups as far as you can or they will overwhelm the amp and everything else. The magnets in those things could lift a Buick.

I love my four Epis. Extremely well built for the price. But my three Gibsons are in a higher league, quality wise. For many, they may not be a thousand dollars better. I’m happy and fortunate to be able to experience both worlds. But the Gibsons would go with me if I had to choose only three.
My VPs feel great and win in the tone department. But my '06 Gibson feels superb, almost "made for me good." Maybe as good as my '64.

I thought, since there's a lot of talk about 1st/high school cars, I'd join in the nostalgia-talk ;)

This isn't my actual car, no digital pics of it (and the film ones are....maybe (probably) in my storage unit? But this is mostly close, but prettier than mine was. It was one of the "too loud" cars that I drove for years. Loved that car! :)

'Zactly. Mojo is what somebody else might call things. I call messy fretboards like that well used. Mine aren't quite like that, but they certainly haven't been pampered.
I’m too much of a neat freak with my equipment. My fly fishing gear is well used, 20 to 30 years old but still looks new. I clean frets and fretboards annually, and keep everything clean even though every bass is out of its case and within easy reach to play.

Love those!

My dad always hated that I loved Mopar instead of Generic Motors, but he helped with all the ones I had over the years anyways

I found some old pics, of a time when mine was sorta in flux paint-wise, after getting some body work done (it was re-done back to "Petty Blue" after). Maybe '92 - '93?

The top pic was at my dad's house in TN, the other two were south GA, I think. I had a friend, she had moved with her family to.....Waycross? maybe?

*sigh*.... I'm really starting to miss that car now :(

I kinda preferred the Plymouth version with the big square taillights but I wouldn't refuse one of those.

An old memory just came back to me: a guitarist I played alongside back in 69-70 had an orange extended nose "Super Bird"(or whatever it was called)with the big@$$ spoiler on the back.

My dad told me once, he almost traded his '68 ss camaro for one of those in 1970, but the insurance folks wouldn't even consider insuring him (~21 at the time...)

Nope. Just put 50-105 EBCF's on mine. Smooth as glass. And the old ones I put on the EB-0 are smoother than they were after wiping them down with alcohol(rubbing, that is). No Jameson was harmed.
BTW, just one night, but so far liking the[stuff]outta the 50-105s on the Thunderbird. Had to keep it down to a low roar on the jazz gig, but looking forward to letting them 'sing', which I know they're gonna.:bassist::hyper:
